Does anybody know what happened Hafnoui this week? If he was ill/injured I’d have assumed he’d have pulled out of the 1500m

Agree. Sjoestroem is still one of the best in the World, don't know why she suddenly gave up on the 100 events. It's not like Sweden has a medal chance with her, so her concentration for the relays seems pointless, when she could medal in the individual events.

 

100 free has a strong competition, i could see why she could leave it, but 100 fly is hers even blindfolded. Is it certain she would skip 100 fly at the Olympics?

I think you meant the 50m butterfly? . That's the event where she has the top 25 times of all time which isn't an Olympic event.

 

In the 100, she would be in a tough battle with Zhang, MacNeil, Koehler, McKeon and the two Americans. Also, I believe she's mentioned that ever since she slipped on ice, she's been finding it more painful than in the past to do the 100m.
