Damn, British Justice is just so messed up, a poor person just can’t win.

A nurse has unsuccessfully tried to sue the NHS after claiming she was being secretly hypnotised at work - to force her to uncontrollably break wind.

Xandra Samson insisted she was suffering from unwelcome ‘gastrointestinal disturbances’ at work including flatulence.

This clip from ABC’s coverage of Mexico City 1968 has been making the rounds on social media today. It’s interesting to consider this in the context of the ongoing debate about Rule 50, refugee athletes, and the geopolitical role of the Olympic Games.

Nobody cares what happened in 1968 anymore. Today's sport and Olympic Games is all about money anyway. You can't sell me progress and use examples from 53 years ago. Not in an era when TikTok is king  Must be a real boring day in the gossip columns if old NBC clips are making news.

If you'd like to help our fellow Totallympics member Bruna Moura get to the 2026 Winter Olympics, after her car crash on the way to the 2022 Olympics, every tiny bit of help would be greatly appreciated! Full story and how to help can be found here!

Dutch club football has declined since the glory days of the 70s, but there is still at least one club out there focussed on regaining international credibility.  OK, it’s probably just the standard Dutch 0.33l measure, not the full imperial pint but still….

  • 2 weeks later...

On October 28, 1918, Czechoslovakia was established. A state that unfortunately no longer exists.

Neverthless, Happy 103rd anniversary Československo :cheer:

    • Some other fast swims today include a new commonwealth record by Duncan Scott in the 400m free and a European record in the 100m IM by Marchand. Watch out for some quick swims in the 200m free and 200m IM later on.
    • Last stop on this TISC Central Asia tour: Turkmenistan    One of the most closed and censored lands in the world, Turkmenistan is a place with incredible things to visit, with a beautiful desert landscape, historical ruins from ancient civilisations, and the unique "Door to Hell".   But it is also a country where everything is controlled and restricted (we had no access to social networks and tons of blocked websites, can only enter with invitation letter, with a predefined tour and accompanied by a guide at all times), with giant megalomaniac buildings created in order to maintain a cult of the leader and its regime. It basically felt like what i imagine is North Korea (but without the hate for americans).   It is eccentric, it is impressive, but above all, it is bizarre. Here is a patriotic catchy song i heard when was traveling there. .      Mähri Pirgulyýewa – Halkyň arkadagly zamanasy

    • Took a couple of videos, but completely forgot to take even a single picture and the file size of the videos are too big for Totallympics so I had to find a site to upload it to   https://streamable.com/ga23lv   Vibes at the game were good, place was loud, and I downed a $6 poutine from Costco before the game. Unfortunately, the game didn’t go so well, it took us a solid 45 minutes to actually start playing hockey besides some bursts here and there, and after coming back from down 1-3 we gave up the OT goal less than a minute in (Typical Canucks fashion), but  Lankinen stole us a point, they had so many solid opportunities on him and we had no business staying close.    Really mediocre start to the season for the Canucks so far, even with 11 points in 8 games, a lot of players not showing up (Petey, Soucy, Myers, Hög, Miller, DeBrusk, although for DeBrusk he’s been known to have a streaky game) and our power play and overtime have been fucking dogshit (power play has been like this for years). Shoutout to Garland, Hughes, Sherwood and Lankinen though they’ve been incredible so far
