Apparently Stephanie Schneider said she thinks she will win this.

Time for her to join the list of "look at me, I'm amazing" athletes. :coffee:

Pretty awesome new graphics and still they can't manage to show the positions at the intermediate times instead of only the time itself

On the other hand: John Morgan is back :hyper:

Wild crash for the Romanians.

How about Vicenzino? She didn't make a full turn like the Romanians, but it was rather scary to see her motionless :yikes:

Apparently in the hospital they 'excluded' anything too bad, same thing with Grecu and the crashed athletes in the second run.

Does anyone know if women's monobob will be included at next year world champs? It's ridiculous they've added event that feels like a demo two years before Olympics...

I am unashamed, at getting nothing done.

There is no limit as to how ridiculous adding the monobob for 2022 was. No idea if it's at the world championships next time, but surely it should be...just like in the World Cup..

You sort of missed the big story :p Bad crashes, mostly from the Italians and Romanians

If you want, I have the exact point in time where one can see them (all athletes got out relatively ok) in the live stream videos.

Italians crash more often than they finish, really,  :bones:

    • Yeah. It was pretty bad that they cancel the contract with the original creative director after 7 months of work. I feel like politics, in this particular context of the changing of prime minister and the cabinet, may had caused changes in organizational decisions regarding the Sea Games including the direction of the opening ceremony.
    • That's what I figured.  Wouldn't be a proper lead up to an Olympics without some media-fueled fearmongering.
    • Today : Jordan 3-0 Egypt  This team will surprise us
    • option no.2 for sure, as it's been all this shitstorm organized by the nhl owners through their embedded reporters   ps not that the north american audience looks really aware of the hockey rules and habits outside the nhl (and around their game, too, since they look not to know that just a couple of weeks ago they played 2 nhl matches on an ice sheet of the exact same size of Milan's olympic arena)
    • Are we supposed to take Daly's word for it or is this just public posturing to try and shame the Milan organizers (which they certainly deserve for all the delays) in order to threaten NHL participation?
    • Well that was a disappointing opening ceremony. Not to mention the boss is late too...   Anyway this is another victim of bureaucracy, the initial creative director quit in October and we get this kind of show.   Original plan: https://www.facebook.com/share/v/17EVayTpig/
    • Japan missed their last shot with hammer in the 10th last night against the Philippines for them to stay alive.  USA's remaining 2 games are against Philippines and Netherlands, so they have a tough road ahead, although they've already beaten Japan, so that helps for tiebreaker purposes.
    • They have already beaten Japan, so a win would them in a strong place.
