Team favorites for tokyo (évent world team qualification Portugal? )thanks

I'd say Hong Kong, Austria, Poland, Korea, Singapore, Portugal, Romania, Taipei - in women's competition

I'm not very familiar with men's table tennis, so I skip.

If the lights light up exactly at the correct moment, he was definitely first, since his light went on first. Not sure if those lights are 100% accurate though?

France just defeated Russia in the women's tournament (3-1). Is that quite a big upset ?

At least two of the three wins came from (slight) favourites at the bookmakers, which suggests it's not a huge upset if it is one :p

GB women not looking too good. 2 matches down against Spain. Is it correct there are 9 places available for Men and Women each?

Correct, which means every women's team that lost in the first round is eliminated from Olympic qualification. The losers of the round of 16 will have a "second chance" tournament with the winner grabbing the final spot.

Looked like ITTF Pre planned that

That's not a very smart statement

They’ll probably just go Unified Korea in Table Tennis now.

    • Yes, but what I mean for Serbia is that everything changed there (unfortunately for us ). 2022 was an unbelievable mess, that's not the case anymore now with just one athlete who has really gone for it and made it, so I'm 99% sure they'll accept it this time.   Who knows though. Plus there's always 1-2 bigger countries here or there who reject something, but it's not gonna be 16 places I'm afraid

It’s worth noting that 199 of World Athletics’ 214 member federations have no athletes on the current ban list. This means the problem is really concentrated in a small number of places.
