Balaton aka central european sea.

During storm´s waves should be fine also for surfing :p

I knew it was large enough but I was more concerned about the suitability of the summer weather conditions.

Surfing *can* be held in a wave pool (and one of the world series stop uses such a venue). Different format and the purists hate it, but it can be done.

Alternatively I doubt the IOC would object if surfing was held outside of Hungary.

I mean, we're traveling across the world for surfing alone next year and though that is technically France, I doubt more than 0,1% of non-French people see it as such at all, so no problem if it's way outside of Hungary during Budapest 2036 :p

Usually they have strong wind in that part of Hungary. Pretty sure it may works well for :sailing: not really for Surfing though

Omanyala 10.01, not sure this can be enough

Ah, Ferdinand 'I will remain unbeaten outdoor in all of 2023' Omanyala, who lost 3 of his 4 races right after saying that and then went on to be invisible in today's final :p

Much nicer to see Goku Lyles win instead of Mr Bigmouth :d

I think this Athletic WC is more than enough to a small country. Olympics, Football WC are very expensive games.

But an Olympics close to Hungary would count the sport lover Hungarians!

Yeah financially it's probably gonna be difficult, but judging by the past few years, Budapest would definitely be a worthy Olympic city!

Women's long jump: Pretty weak behind Spanovic. Insane that she peaks at such an old age. Mihambo shouldn't lose too much sleep over this. Iapichino was a massive letdown. Luzolo for sure had the chance to finish top 6, but sadly she couldn't even replicate her performance from prelims.

Women's heptathlon: Pretty low level for bronze. Right now Thiam, KJT and Hall look like the clear favorites for the medals next year, but maybe someone else can step up and get to 6700-6800 points. Weißenberg would have won bronze with 6.40 m in the long jump.

Men's hammer throw: Insane that Katzenberg improved by 12 m in 2 years ... i wish Germany would some day find an athlete with such a rate of improvement.

Attachment is the great fabricator of illusions; reality can be obtained only by someone who is detached.

    • I have reported this again and they said it should be fixed now, please let me know if you are still facing issues.
    • more countries added to the list of US ban    you can't travel to USA if you are from : burkina faso , niger , Laos , South sudan , mali , sierra leon ...
    • Yes, but what I mean for Serbia is that everything changed there (unfortunately for us ). 2022 was an unbelievable mess, that's not the case anymore now with just one athlete who has really gone for it and made it, so I'm 99% sure they'll accept it this time.   Who knows though. Plus there's always 1-2 bigger countries here or there who reject something, but it's not gonna be 16 places I'm afraid
    • Doping by Event Type When we look at which events have the most doping cases, a few categories stand out from recent sanction records: Long Distance (3,000m and above): 32% of cases Sprints (400m or less): 24% of cases Jumps: 12% of cases Javelin: 8% of cases Middle Distance (800m–1,500m): 8% of cases Hammer: 8% of cases Steeplechase (3,000m SC): 4% of cases
    • From 2020 to 2025    These three countries alone make up almost two-thirds (61.9%) of all current doping violations in athletics worldwide. It’s worth noting that 199 of World Athletics’ 214 member federations have no athletes on the current ban list. This means the problem is really concentrated in a small number of places. Here’s a look at the top countries: Rank Country Total Violations Percentage Region 1 Kenya 119 24.74% Africa 2 India 108 22.45% Asia 3 Russia 73 15.18% Europe 4 China 26 5.40% Asia 5 Turkey 20 4.16% Europe 6 Italy 18 3.74% Europe 7 South Africa 18 3.74% Africa 8 Ukraine 17 3.53% Europe 9 United States 16 3.33% North America 10 Morocco 15 3.12% Africa
