Canada's biggest issue isn't talent, it's getting that talent to play together.

that is what i meant. Canada could already have medals in global competitions

Canada don't even deserve to be in the qualification tournament since they never cared about international basketball, so hopefully they'll fail this time and try again more seriously in the next Olympic cycle :p

I thought when Warriors were left without playoffs that finaly we'll see Wiggins playing for NT. But, they're going to be without Murray, who would probably be the biggest star on the team. They have a great team potentialy but also team is much more than collection of players on paper. Dillon Brooks is playing great for Memphis right now, he could be huge for them and with Greece without Giannis in OQT, it would be Canada's to lose.

I'd say Canada's biggest problem is that many Canadians -or should that be Canadian passport holders ? - don't think it is much of  a big deal playing for their (so called ) national team  ( true in many sports but particularly the very American ones -the women generally see it differently  )

Some people see this as a plus -something along the lines of Canada being the world's first post nationalist nation

11/12 players at the 2019 World Cup were born in Canada, likewise 18/20 NBA players were born in Canada with one moving to Canada when he was seven.

Εven with Giannis, Greece will not be strong. If half of Canada's nba stars show up in OQT then Canada will easily qualify

    • Yeah. It was pretty bad that they cancel the contract with the original creative director after 7 months of work. I feel like politics, in this particular context of the changing of prime minister and the cabinet, may had caused changes in organizational decisions regarding the Sea Games including the direction of the opening ceremony.
    • That's what I figured.  Wouldn't be a proper lead up to an Olympics without some media-fueled fearmongering.
    • Today : Jordan 3-0 Egypt  This team will surprise us
    • option no.2 for sure, as it's been all this shitstorm organized by the nhl owners through their embedded reporters   ps not that the north american audience looks really aware of the hockey rules and habits outside the nhl (and around their game, too, since they look not to know that just a couple of weeks ago they played 2 nhl matches on an ice sheet of the exact same size of Milan's olympic arena)
    • Are we supposed to take Daly's word for it or is this just public posturing to try and shame the Milan organizers (which they certainly deserve for all the delays) in order to threaten NHL participation?
    • Well that was a disappointing opening ceremony. Not to mention the boss is late too...   Anyway this is another victim of bureaucracy, the initial creative director quit in October and we get this kind of show.   Original plan: https://www.facebook.com/share/v/17EVayTpig/
    • Japan missed their last shot with hammer in the 10th last night against the Philippines for them to stay alive.  USA's remaining 2 games are against Philippines and Netherlands, so they have a tough road ahead, although they've already beaten Japan, so that helps for tiebreaker purposes.
    • They have already beaten Japan, so a win would them in a strong place.
