There is no chance for reallocation? Its surely the most painful dissapointed for us in canoeing as they were always on podium during World Cups this year and also had medal in European Games...

In C2? No, I don't think so. But there's still a chance for a quota place at a European qualification event next year.

Probably not, but you do have another chance to qualify at the European Qualifiers in May 2024.

Wait a second?? Didn't we miss the quota by 0.014 finishing in 7th?

Only 6 boats could qualify in K2 500, no?

Yeah, but it depends which boats have double starters in K4 and K2. One athlete can only win one quota place, so the quota place is reallocated to the next placed federation.

There are two stories here for Hungarian canoeing:

On one hand we did well in the Olympic qualification, 15 quotas is an acceptable outcome and I think we will win the other 3 next year in Szeged.

On the other hand this is a disaster in terms of gold medals. ZERO gold medals in the Olympic events. Only one gold medal overall before the 5000m finals... Our gold medal favorites (Varga, Kopasz) lost and most of our medal favorites disappointed. A similar result in Paris would be seen as a disaster. The 3 gold medals of London, Rio and Tokyo are a distant memory at this point, the good days are over if we don't get our shit together.

Excellent work! Thanks

So, each NOC is eligible for a maximum of 18 athletes, right?

Does that mean :GER can still qualify in WC1 from the European championships?
