Their national champs caused a bit of controversy last year, so he’ll have to place well if he wants the same kind of media attention :p

:TOG with a young skier on the start list as well. Nice to see them with another winter sport representative.

:HAI internal battle might be interesting as well. Their YOG skier and Beijing 2022 representative are both in the field.

Probably the oldest, and by far, alpine skier in the world.

I’m more curious about his outfit than his result, though.

Best of luck to Sarah Schlepper in women’s GS.

Mistake for Bassino and she's over  a second behind, Brignone goes 3rd which kinda sets up the podium challenge.

Maryna G-D into 6th and just under a second off Shiffrin :yes

2nd run to be set by an American coach (not Shiffrin's, who's been fired and left France a couple of days ago).

curious to see if he/she goes for a speedy design or if he/she does set a slalom with gs gates up.

in the first case, most likely the 2nd run won't change the 3 girls currently on the podium (maybe Brignone can overtake Worley).

otherwise, it might mix things up a bit and give some girls now ranked 4th/10th a slim chance to comeback (at least for silver and bronze...gold is only Shiffrin's to lose).

    • Yes, but Geiger and Wellinger have both achieved some success in major events, while Paschke hasn't. Geiger certainly has a better chance in Cortina than Paschke at now, but it has to be the his decision to withdraw and give a chance to his team- mate. Otherwise, it wouldn't be fair to him. I don't think Horngacher will force him to withdraw.
