Marcus was the current silver medalist, leader of the world ranking and had won a stage of the World Cup that year. For me, he is among the medalists was fully "expected".

The world rankings don't mean much, GB has the top 2 positions in the women's world ranking ...

Attachment is the great fabricator of illusions; reality can be obtained only by someone who is detached.

What a day of archery amazing!

Was hoping for all Koreans to lose and a Valencia v Horackova final which I got. In Men's I wanted Pangestu v Marcus final but even Gazoz was fine he's been in fine form in last 2 years.

:KOR Fail to top the World Archery Championship medal tally for the first time since 1995.

:IND Having never won a gold at world archery championship before, top the medal tally for the first time ever with 3golds!

Interesting that it seems to be more unpredictable than shooting. I guess if archery would have more rounds it would also be more predictable. More shots = Less unexpected outcome.

The set system also does lead to less consistency.

Canadian coach is so positive :p

Canada actually didn't have any coaches at Worlds. Some sort of issue, don't know what it was. That was in fact, their mental health coach. :yes

Retelling the  David and Goliath legend.... by *nitin sanker*

Since 1995 for 14 world championships , there was one country which won every championship , beyond all sports, the pride of korea was her archery team unmatched , unrivalled , unbeaten  , a synonym for metronomic excellence , supported by the best coaching system in the world and with unmatched budgets ....

Then there was this team which never had won a gold medal in archery in 92 years.  They were famous for having the most nervous hands in archery, faltering at the last leg time and again,  with 7 silvers and 2 bronzes over 40 odd championships .... many of them were trained at satara by a constable and  former ward boy pravin  sawant at a small archery center set up with pawned jewellery from his wife ...

But come 2023 when the dust settled in Berlin the shining resplendent truth was revealed ......

Yes yes yes ...korea was in second place for the first time around 30 years  .... India finished first at the 2023  world archery championship ..  *Remember this day* ....

strength does not come from physical capacity but from an indomitable will. - Gandhi

    • Exactly. Recent developments of the construction haven't been particularly encouraging, and while they'll probably get everything sorted just in time, a lot of North American fans have been quite vocal about every minor inconvenience.

    • Yeah. It was pretty bad that they cancel the contract with the original creative director after 7 months of work. I feel like politics, in this particular context of the changing of prime minister and the cabinet, may had caused changes in organizational decisions regarding the Sea Games including the direction of the opening ceremony.
    • That's what I figured.  Wouldn't be a proper lead up to an Olympics without some media-fueled fearmongering.
