First loss in eight years for the Americans. Guess we'll have to qualify through next year's Worlds, we have no chance at the Pan Am Games now.

I honestly expected that, Australia is the better team on paper, they just got stronger opponents recently in the QF than Greece. Spain or Hungary should be able to stop them.

 

That being said, New Zealand will certainly be very supportive of Australia during that SF.

Okay girls, let's try to do this for the billionth time. We have to beat Spain once before the heat death of the universe, so we might as well do it now.

Yeah, no chance whatsoever... 12th loss in a row against Spain for Hungary at the big tournaments. 

 

6th place for us at best at the Worlds, right after a 5th place at the Euros. We aren't looking good at all.

What an embarrassment for us, losing 8-9 to Australia. They are a good team but we did not score any goals in the last 13 (!!!) minutes...

 

This is now the 6th WC in a row where we lost in the quarterfinals 

 

Thankfully, Italy may have saved our Olympic chances. Now we just need Spain to beat Australia and then we will be closer than ever to Paris (though I am still worried about Canada next year in Doha but we'll see).
