Continental qualification comes before the second World qualification. Which means that Australia will take the Oceania quota at the 2024 WCh no matter what. Unless somehow New Zealand take it from them, but that's almost impossible.

are you sure ? but if Australia finishes in the top 4 with the 3 countries already qualified? how does it happen ?

Australia will take the continental quota at the next WC.

 

And if they don't, I doubt they will be able to threaten for any other qualifying spot, because then they fared worse than New Zealand at the next WC.

I have a feeling it might come down to bracket placement, who can avoid the top teams the longest.
