Or I’m not 1,000 years old :p

(Or more likely they’re not American, so they haven’t popped up in my recommendations)

Taxi Driver is just outside top 100 on IMDB for a reason.

I’m not a huge fan of the show because they’ve made a lot of jokes they call satire that just disguise some of the racist tendencies of the characters. However, I will admit that I’m fully behind them on this, and so acknowledge their huge contributions to the satirical realm of comedy. Good for them.

Bit late but never saw this before, but...there's not exactly a disguise to the racist tendencies of some of the characters. The whole point is showing exactly things like their racist tendencies, which is why black, white, yellow, red, whatever people are always in one way or another ridiculed, just like women are, men are, straight people are, gay people are, muslims are, Christians are, atheist are, poor people are, rich people are. Almost literally every 'group' one can think of.

That's what they're made for. To create hype. But I don't get how it can get that much hype.
Personally I'm rather interested by The Plot against America. It's a pretty thought provoking book.

But it general I'm much less hyped about it than I was about 2019.

I’m super excited for the New Pope. Also, the continuation of Barry and Curb Your Enthusiasm. I’m also excited by The Plot Against American. I’ve heard some interesting things about The Outsiders. Plus, John Oliver to top it all off.

Another new HBO show dropped today. It’s called “His Dark Materials” and it’s an alternate dimension, mystery, big brother, conspiracy, sci-fi, magic show. It has a lot of potential potential, but the first episode wasn’t as gripping as “Watchmen”. I believe this show is also based off a book(s). I’ll definitely watch the rest of the season, but it’s a unique look and tone for HBO. It’s normal your normal HBO or television show for that matter. I’m genuinely curious to see where they go with it.

HBO still killing the game this year.

And a journalist just saved the protagonist. +1500 pts

Thanks man, always nice when you're planning to watch something and someone drops a major spoiler bomb out of nowhere. Love it.

Yeah not really a spoiler. Very small part of the episode, and it doesn’t really change the story. Sorry about that, I’ll make sure to add the spoiler post from now on.

    • Yes, she was unlucky, but it could just as easily have happened during some training, like with Gut, etc. Brignone has been essentially injury-free throughout her long career, which is very rare in this sport. It's unfortunate that this happened after her best season ever and just 1 year before the Olympic Games in home, when she just missing of win the Olympic gold medal in her great career. With the gold in Cortina, she would have become a legend of Italian skiing, on par with Tomba. Now she's still the best Italian woman in history, but the miss of Olympic gold will likely haunt her for the rest of her life.
    • It sad to see this season, as I remember, that Fede last year was winning everywhere, when she competed and finished and now we haven't even managed a single podium in the giant slalom, and it'll probably stay that way until the end of the season. Without Fede and Bassino, unfortunately, we're out of good cards in this event. For me Goggia should probably skip the giant slalom at all, becouse she has no chance of a podium and she risks further injuries. If even Goggia finish 8th or 10th? What difference does it make? If she couldn't get a podium finish today with so many DNFs at the top skiers, she probably never do. Della Mea is OK this year, but let's be honest, she's not World Cup podium material. Overall, it's a sad picture, and we have a 0% chance of anything in Cortina unless a miracle happens in Brignone return.   We have two chances for Goggia in DH and SG + maybe a dark horse in Pirovano/Curtoni in SG. That's all. In technical events, we have a 0% chance for medal and that's sad. Our federation also lost Colturi in this situation... In any normal country, the head of such a federation should be dismissed for disciplinary reasons and this case should be investigated by the minister, or even the prime minister, but not in Italy...
    • Mikaela Shiffrin  off the podium today (Edit: Oops...I thought this was slalom, not Giant Slalom.).  Nina Astner  entered the 2nd run in 30th place, but had the best second run, jumping up 18 places to 12th.
