Interesting that our first and only medals are in 200m breast stroke, suddenly we are specialising in breast stroke ever since Kamminga's success. Gold and silver in the same event might say more about the lack of competition than the strength of the Dutch swimmers though...

No, this is now the event in swimming and WE rule it

Tajus Juška continues to impress with 6 Q mark to the 100m Free semis, against athletes 4 years older than him.

He would've swept like three golds at EYOF if he was old enough to participate :d

Jazdauskas and Babakinas scrape by to their semis.

Other than that, lots of underperformances today from many of our team, but at least we managed another final in the 4x200m Free.

The evening session is very important though, as it's the final chance for our Freestyle talent Plytnykaitė to get any medal at these championships.

Don't know if she is at her peak here, but she is swimming somewhat close to her PB's. She needs to pull though today and show that her 1st entry time here wasn't just for show.

Apparently, our Tajus Juška is the third fastest freestyle swimmer at 14 years old, only bested by David Popovici and Jacob Whittle.

That's the second time that Swimswam writes about him, I'm really excited to see how his career will pan out and hopefully it's going to be great :)

Third title for Petar Mitsin, this time in the 400 free with a new Junior World Record of 3:44.31 :yikes: :yikes:  He beat Mack Horton's junior record from 2014. This is the first time Bulgaria has any kind of world record in swimming.

If that dumbass Antoni Ivanov hadn't been suspended, we could have had a men's relay at the Olympics...

to be remembered...

the Junior World Record mark is a true fake, it only started registering results in recent years

for instance, Ian Thorpe was still 17 when he swum 3.40.59 to win the gold medal at the Sydney Olympics

that said, Mitsin has been amazing this week...we'll see if he can make the transition to the senior ranks without any trouble

Overall, there's a lot to do, for example, compared to Budapest, but unfortunately, this is Italy How many years has Roma been building their new stadium, and they keep pushing back the completion date- now I read it's 2030? and it should be ready. The same goes for Milan- there should be a modern complex of indoor swimming pools with 50 meters pools, etc., but there's a problem with one stupid football stadium, which will only be built after an ultimatum from UEFA

She wasn’t a top-tier athlete in that program anymore. She was at the end of her career. I would personally would rather race against Katie. She’s not as competitive as the other athletes,” he said. “It’s probably really unfair to say and not really where I want to go with this but that’s where we are with that.”   Uhlaender: “If I were Canada, I would be concerned in how this coach is representing the Olympic values for his country,” Uhlaender told Fox News Digital. “He hurt a whole field of athletes, all with dreams, and this sends the message that they don’t matter unless they are number one. All athletes matter, and we all deserve to compete fairly, with integrity, and respect. He did not respect anyone in that field. “This is not about my resume or how good the athletes were in the race. This is about the fact that he intentionally manipulated the competition to hurt myself and 13 other countries because he felt it necessary to eliminate all possibility. That is against the spirit of sport and not what the Olympic movement represents.”   Isn't it great when other people's dirty laundry is aired?  /sarcasm     (I was a little surprised to see NPR pick this up, but per this article, Uhlaender preemptively recorded the phone call after receiving a text from Cecchini that said he had 'bad news' for her.)
