Mihambo has called it a season. She's not going to be fit enough for the World Championships and now wants to give herself time to recover and focus on Rome and Paris next year.

Great news ... feels like 90 % of the german athletes are injured/out of shape. German athletics would be in an infinitely better shape if all the german athletes would be close to their best. Ansah, Ansah-Peprah, Agyekum, Mohumed, Farken, Heß, Wagner, Zernikel, Baehre, Sosna, Vetter, Röhler, Hofmann, Mayer, Schwab, Müller, Klosterhalfen, Klein, Kejeta, Burkard, Krause, Kallabis, Granz, Reh, Wender, Mihambo, Kienast, Otchere, Eckhardt, Maduka, Gierisch, Maisch, Hussong, Fuchs ...

At this point even 2 medals at the world championships would be a surprise ...

Weber + one out of Pudenz/Neugebauer/Kaul/Potye

Gyulai Memorial was fun, but also hot as fuck, especially during the hammer throw, which is prob why Halász failed to reach the Olympic ES. But hey, we got an OES in men's 400, so I am not complaining.

100m hurdles World Champion (And WR Holder) :NGR Amusan, is provisionally suspended for having missed three doping tests in the last year.

"The Charge will be heard by the Disciplinary Tribunal and determined before the World Athletics Championships"

If charged, it could result in a suspension of up to two years, which would have her missing the upcoming Olympics.

Well, I sure didn't think yesterday that I will be among the last people who saw her compete live. Completely out of nowhere.

What do you mean with "out of nowhere"?

I meant that she was competing yesterday and the news broke literally the next day. I feel like many times the athlete "disappears" from the spotlight before they get suspended, so you kinda see it coming.

Due to the heat wave, our National U20 Championships which were supposed to take place this week will be now held in September. Also, the Balkan U20 Championships were already cancelled.

So our U20 athletes now will not have many opportunities to achieve standards for the upcoming European U20 Championships...

    • Yes, but what I mean for Serbia is that everything changed there (unfortunately for us ). 2022 was an unbelievable mess, that's not the case anymore now with just one athlete who has really gone for it and made it, so I'm 99% sure they'll accept it this time.   Who knows though. Plus there's always 1-2 bigger countries here or there who reject something, but it's not gonna be 16 places I'm afraid
    • Doping by Event Type When we look at which events have the most doping cases, a few categories stand out from recent sanction records: Long Distance (3,000m and above): 32% of cases Sprints (400m or less): 24% of cases Jumps: 12% of cases Javelin: 8% of cases Middle Distance (800m–1,500m): 8% of cases Hammer: 8% of cases Steeplechase (3,000m SC): 4% of cases
    • From 2020 to 2025    These three countries alone make up almost two-thirds (61.9%) of all current doping violations in athletics worldwide. It’s worth noting that 199 of World Athletics’ 214 member federations have no athletes on the current ban list. This means the problem is really concentrated in a small number of places. Here’s a look at the top countries: Rank Country Total Violations Percentage Region 1 Kenya 119 24.74% Africa 2 India 108 22.45% Asia 3 Russia 73 15.18% Europe 4 China 26 5.40% Asia 5 Turkey 20 4.16% Europe 6 Italy 18 3.74% Europe 7 South Africa 18 3.74% Africa 8 Ukraine 17 3.53% Europe 9 United States 16 3.33% North America 10 Morocco 15 3.12% Africa
