Is Jacobs the new Nestyarenka? :mumble:

no, it's not the case...he has dominated the 2021 season and, when not injured, the 2022 season as well...

he already collected European and World Indoor titles, outdoor European and Olympic gold medals and he recorded both Indoor and Outdoor European records.

I guess he's already done more than many big names among the sprint specialists of the past...comparing him to the Belarussian is an insult.

right now he's not in very good shape (still, 6.56 is a clocking that most sprinters in the world can only dream about).

adding another European Indoor title or not, it's not going to change anything for him, we'll see what he he's going to do in the outdoor season...

Meanwhile among the mortals in Polish Nationals in Toruń Adrianna Sułek & Natalia Kaczmarek further improved their NR in heptathlon & 400m. Sułek's previous NR was set in Belgrade last winter and Kaczmarek's last week in Lievin.

Oh come on, I'm watching all the indoor tour meets and she does it in national championships, which I wasn't really going to watch because I forgot, in Apeldoorn of all places?

But holy smokes, what a time. How many of those 80's women's records are left to be taken out now? :p

I was watching the national championships livestream and it was pretty hilarious. All day you're watching athletes, mostly juniors, competing mostly for a title and a PB and in some rare cases the European indoor qualification mark. Then suddenly you're watching a world record run.

    • more countries added to the list of US ban    you can't travel to USA if you are from : burkina faso , niger , Laos , South sudan , mali , sierra leon ...
    • Yes, but what I mean for Serbia is that everything changed there (unfortunately for us ). 2022 was an unbelievable mess, that's not the case anymore now with just one athlete who has really gone for it and made it, so I'm 99% sure they'll accept it this time.   Who knows though. Plus there's always 1-2 bigger countries here or there who reject something, but it's not gonna be 16 places I'm afraid
    • Doping by Event Type When we look at which events have the most doping cases, a few categories stand out from recent sanction records: Long Distance (3,000m and above): 32% of cases Sprints (400m or less): 24% of cases Jumps: 12% of cases Javelin: 8% of cases Middle Distance (800m–1,500m): 8% of cases Hammer: 8% of cases Steeplechase (3,000m SC): 4% of cases
    • From 2020 to 2025    These three countries alone make up almost two-thirds (61.9%) of all current doping violations in athletics worldwide. It’s worth noting that 199 of World Athletics’ 214 member federations have no athletes on the current ban list. This means the problem is really concentrated in a small number of places. Here’s a look at the top countries: Rank Country Total Violations Percentage Region 1 Kenya 119 24.74% Africa 2 India 108 22.45% Asia 3 Russia 73 15.18% Europe 4 China 26 5.40% Asia 5 Turkey 20 4.16% Europe 6 Italy 18 3.74% Europe 7 South Africa 18 3.74% Africa 8 Ukraine 17 3.53% Europe 9 United States 16 3.33% North America 10 Morocco 15 3.12% Africa
