Here, the first french game against Australia had almost the exact same figure than four years ago against the same team (12.53 M vs 12.59 M), but with a very time slot (monday at 20.00 vs saturday at 12.00), so hard to compare 

4.3 million for NED - SEN, vs 5.4 million for NED's first match at Euro 2020/21. In the past 20 years, there have been two opening matches for the Netherlands with fewer than 5 million viewers: 2010, when NED played DEN early in the afternoon on a workday, and NED - SEN, where the time of day was most likely again an issue. A little less than in 2010, but still, 17:00 on a Monday isn't ideal for great numbers  

 

Netherlands - Spain in 2014 had over 7 million viewers as opening match.

Croatia played 7 WC qualification and did qualify 6 times, missed only once (in 2010)

Slovakia played 7 WC qualification and did qualify only 1 time (in 2010)
