@vlad why Moldovan isn't playing , I was told he is the main goalkeeper of NT in Euro Fantasy

He left to Atletico Madrid last winter, but he didn't played there at all. In 2024 he played only for NT. That's why he is a substitute now. Nevermind, our GK, Nita did a great job today:thumbup:

No man, this can't be real. It's the first time when I cry for national team.

Didn't you cry after that goddamn match vs Sweden in WC '94?

If the lights light up exactly at the correct moment, he was definitely first, since his light went on first. Not sure if those lights are 100% accurate though?

It's just that Romania has a very long border with Bulgaria and that's why I asked. These countries also have a lot in common: joining the EU at the same time, etc.

Unfortunately, another similarity is that Romania and Bulgaria had the worst possible kind of communism; it's been 35 years since the fall of the red plague and still we haven't managed to wipe out all of its filth.

not everybody is old enough to remember that WC :d

Romania and Bulgaria were my favorite teams back then (behind Italy of course) . I was a kid and couldn't stay up after midnight to watch that match, I re-watched it in the morning without knowing the result and yeah the defeat was disappointing. but that was a hell of a match

    • There is a transgender volleyball player here in Brazil; there was even a recent controversy (this year) when a city banned her from playing in a certain competition, which ended up in court, ultimately in her favor.   But the situation is much simpler than that; the reason for this decision is because of the two female boxers who won at Paris 2024 (who apparently are not transgender).

    • there were rumors about it for quite a while, but as I wrote, it was never confirmed so, it might well be just some haters throwing out some shit on her 🤷
    • Where did you get that?   I'm not sure I would have considered her to have dissapeared from out of nowhere, at least since after Tokyo... she did win medals at the next two World Championships. I think it's just recently, she's been struggling with injury which is why she's completely out of form...
    • Even though I'm not the biggest fan of her, always sucks to see a career ending through injury and not on your own terms
    • This is going to have an effect on very likely 0 athletes, possibly 1 or 2 we don't really know about yet. It's really mostly the cheapest possible way for them to make a sort of political statement, without having any significant backlash since it won't really affect anyone at the top level of international sports.   Edit: worded a bit wrong, I was thrown off by everywhere 'trans women' being mentioned as the target of this. Of course there is also the somewhat larger category of DSD and the likes, which will certainly affect a few athletes - unfortunately they are often thrown under the bus or mentioned as 'not really women anyway' or something like that, despite, you know, being.
