In the men's event, after repechage 11, :AUS :INA advance to the next round while :INA finishes 8th and :USA finishes 7th.

All nations now have one athlete remaining. :JPN and :USA wins if they finish first though they have chances to win if they finish second or third. For :AUS or :POR to win, they must finish first and :USA must finish third or worse. Likewise for :INA to win, they must finish first and :USA must finish fourth or worse and :JPN must finish third or worse.

:PER winning greatly helps :USA and :JPN to win the Olympic quota.

:AUS :INA have reached the men's final. :PER will be ranked 6th, :USA will be ranked 5th.

The final will consist of :AUS :INA :JPN :POR

The Olympic quota is relatively simple. :AUS :JPN :POR will win the quota should they finish first. For :INA they not only need to finish first, but also hope :JPN doesn't finish second or else they will get the quota.

:AUS :FRA have reached the women's final. :POR will be ranked 6th, :AUS will be ranked 5th.

The final will consist of :AUS :FRA :PER :USA

Overall, :AUS has many options to win the quota. If they finish 1st or 2nd they will qualify or if :PER wins, they automatically qualify. The only way :FRA or :USA qualifies would be if they win and :AUS finishes 3rd or 4th. :PER has no chance for the Olympic quota.

:JPN wins the men's quota. They will now have the opportunity to qualify up to three surfers.

Curiosity, Japan was the only country that had to change their surfers due to results in last qualifier stage to Tokyo. I believe that Shun Murakami should be very happy with this extra quota.

    • I`m very disappointed with this weekend. Only becouse of Ghiotto form I`m happy. Unfortunately, the women's team will not function well if Lollobrigida skips most of the training camps and Fontana starts alternately in short tack and long track. It will end with her not winning any medals here or there, because it`s already clear that it will be very difficult to achieve good results in long track. I hope that she understands this, because in short track she has a real chance of winning medals in the women's relay and the mixed relay but in long track not.
    • Tragic performance of the Italian women's team - last place and probably something bad happened at the start. There are so few starts in the team that it will be a problem to even qualify for the World Championships - 8 best teams. After Lollobrigida's return and Fontana's addition, I was counting on much more, but it seems that there are too few joint trainings. With individual quality, we have no right to lose to the Czechs without Sablikova, or anonymous Korea. And unfortunately this start will count for a lot, because there are only 2 more and our chances of playing at the World Championships are minimal. In my opinion with Fontana going from Short Track to Long Trackand vice versa, we won't be much use in the team. Here great teamwork is needed, not improvisation. As of today, there is very little chance that we will qualify the women's team for the games.
    • men advanced to Division A for the first time since 2018 (when they went 1-8). Don't expect much progress next year
    • Ok, but there we are talking about a person who has parents from different countries. Colturi has nothing to do with Albania.
    • There are few people here from Austria, Switzerland, Norway and Finland.
    • The worst editions in XXI century for us were Vancouver: 5 medals (only 1 gold for Razzoli's on the penultimate day) and Sochi: 8 medals (but no gold). Turin was already a prelude to this bad period, although the number of gold medals was ok. Overall we won fewer medals at home than in 2002 and this was probably the only case in the 21st century when the host country won fewer medals at home than 4 years earlier, either in summer or winter. In general the years 2008-2016 were very bad in our sport, both in summer and winter. Only 2018 in Korea was a slight rebuild + 2 fantastic summer editions in Tokyo and Paris. in Beijing 2022 we won a lot of medals - 17 but only 2 gold (If it weren't for Gogga's injury, I think it would have been 4 gold).
    • Totallympics had  users at one point, but I haven't seen any hanging around in a while.
    • In terms of total medals, yes. In terms of golds, I’d be fine with anywhere from 6-8.   @intoronto you don’t think we’ll do better or at least the same? Bit surprising.
    • Tadeucci was very good and took bronze
    • On the Olympics I don't like to count golds to analyse the performance, I think the best data are the top8 and medals. In both fields I expect a big improvement (obviously not on the 'pure' number, but on the percentage of medal or top8 events)
