Incredible how Julia Simon finished 4th, so a good result, but still lost points to 3 of her direct opponents for the crystal globe since they all finished on the podium, the women's field is amazing :d (it's not good for my nerves though haha)

Great job from Giacomel, his first podium

And happy for Eric Perrot who beats his personal best by finishing 6th, definitely didn't expect him to be the best French today :d

Simon should definitely show a good mass start here, in Oslo that is not so her‘s.. Otherwise outstanding skiing times especially from the French ladies today:
Simon 1st, Chevalier-Bouchet 2nd, Colombo 3rd, Chevalier 7th, Chauveau 10th, Jeanmonnot 17th.
France can also more or less close the Nations Cup on Saturday, the Swedes seem to have completely lost the form after the World Championships. There is also an exciting fight for the relay World Cup between Sweden, France and Germany. The German ladies were today collectively the best.
Also in the men's event, one must actually expect a victory of the German men's relay. The Norwegian men were not so convincing today behind Christiansen and Bö and Laegreid will still be missing for the relay. Sweden will need Samuelsson and France must somehow bring Lombardot through. Who actually showed very well today until the third shooting.

    • Fingers crossed the women’s curling gold medal match also undergoes changes, very preferably an hour earlier so it doesn’t conflict with the men’s hockey gold medal match    Seriously, what were they thinking
    • And yet another version is out . This time with some more noticeable changes.   Ice Hockey: Women's semifinals moved from the Rho Arena to the Santa Giulia Arena Women's gold medal game moved up to a 19:10 start time (was previous 20:10)   Speed Skating: Most of the events have had their session cut by somewhere between 5 and 30 minutes. Start times remain the same   Figure Skating: Looks like the order of events in team event is now: Ice Dance -> Pairs -> Women. Women were previously listed first.   Alpine Skiing: Downhill portion of the team combined cut by 45 minutes 1st Run of the Giant Slalom and Slalom events cut by 30 minutes   Ski Mountaineering: Sprint heats extended by 8 minutes. • Qualification for the 2026 World Baseball Classic has been announced. There'll be 2 qualification Pools and 4 teams in each with the top 2 teams in each pool advancing to the 2026 WBC.   As a fan of international baseball, words cannot describe how disappointed I am. We are coming off arguably the greatest international baseball tournament in history in 2023 and we are cutting the number of teams in the qualification round from 12 to 8 teams . How do you expect to grow baseball like that? Teams like  Argentina and  Pakistan have been on the rise but now they won't have the chance to qualify.     Taipei Qualification Pool (Feb. 21-25, 2025)  Nicaragua  South Africa  Spain  Taiwan     Tucson Qualification Pool (Mar. 2-6, 2025)  Brazil  China  Colombia  Germany

    • Well... I'm late, as always, but unfortunately I couldn't follow live and I've just finished catching up with the thread.    Congratulations to our winner @Hipooo and to @Belle and @Erigert on their medals.    Well done to our host @Cinnamon Bun, who put up a huge effort managing the contest.   Thank you to everyone who voted for our song and helped us achieve this 5th place. I saw we were very close to a podium finish, but this is still a great result.   Congratulations to @Makedonas on the very successful song choice.   I'll now share my ballot.     1st   12 pts   Romania  2nd   11 pts   Bulgaria  3rd   10 pts   Sweden  4th   9 pts   Mexico  5th   8 pts   Brazil  6th   7 pts   Indonesia  7th   6 pts   China  8th   5 pts   France  9th   4 pts   Denmark  10th   3 pts   Spain  11th   2 pts   Italy  12th   1 pts   Albania    Res1   Ireland  Res2   India  Res3   Hungary   I'm looking forward to seeing you all in the next contest!
