Exactly. I think it was like that even in the older version, but maybe the highlighting was a bit less clear.

 

If you "Mark site read" (bottom-right part, near " Unread Content") all the sections should become lighter.

Maybe you give upvote for some indifferent explanation. You give like for something you like, you give sadface for something you don't like.
