Other Multi-Sport Games Discussion Thread

So I was watching the offical page of the Mediterranean Games of Tarragona 2018, and I am pretty shocked with I just had found:

Why aren't they doing the full athletics program? I see no logic on getting out men's triple, pole vault and hammer and women's high, shot put and javelin.

Anyone knows the reason?
