Huge score for Egypt's Ali Zahran on rings. He could even win a medal at the World Championships with this score!

Also, Japan is on fire. They sent a bunch of unknown gymnasts and even so, some scores were well over 15. Fantastic!

Where can I find the results? FIG's website is pretty shitty in terms of finding results of events that are going on at the moment :p

Again, Alexa Moreno :MEX suffered a slight injury and had to pull away from the World Challenge Cup in Guimaraes  This will mostly puts her qualification to Tokyo in risk, and greatly reduces Mexican already small chances to qualify a team.

Meanwhile, Frida Esparza had a decent 13.750 score in uneven bars, which bring some hope she can get an individual quota.

Daniel Corral seems back in form, earning a good 14.200 in floor, but a not so good (but not terrible either) 13.750 in pommel horse; I believe if he continues with this form, he also may qualify an individual quota at Worlds.

Meanwhile, Fabian De Luna is still struggling in Rings, only 14.100 this time.

Full results (Day One)

    • Hope so (for my adopted country, Norway, that is). Torino 2006 was the first Winter Olympics I followed closely and it was nothing short of a disaster for Norway. Strangely enough, that was actually the reason I became an avid fan of Norwegian winter sports and have been ever since. As for my actual home country, Greece, a medal for Ginnis in slalom (alpine skiing) would be a miracle.
