Shooting ISSF World Cup 2019

The World Cup in India is about to start, but there are issues with Pakistan getting visas to compete. Now they are trying to get the quotas for the men's rapid fire pistol (the event they were planning to compete in) moved to the next World Cup event. Probably won't happen, but it may make it difficult for India to host future Olympic qualification events.

I have enough of all this political sh*t. The IOC (probably thorugh the AC) should go to UN with some resolution that athletes going to competition get an visa-free entrance to the country for the competition period.

Just checked the calendar, so far India is not scheduled to host any other direct qualifiers though they are essentially guaranteed to host a field hockey play-off match (which should have no issues as long as it isn't against Pakistan and even then I imagine the match would still go on) so they are unlikely to feel any large sanctions for this Olympic cycle.

I'm more in favor of the opposite politics...Countries that don't allow political and religious freedom and don't host all the athletes who want to compete in a given event, shouldn't host any sport event at all...point.

As a "naive ideallist" as I have half-jokingly written in my instagram bio I do agree, but looking at the world more realistically (like Gian-Franco Kasper tried few weeks ago) it's much easier to organize the competition, especially the big ones, in the non-democratic countries.

Acording to the spanish team, no olympic quotas would be given in this World Cup due to the Pakistani team couldn't make it to India for the event.

No news on how they would be awarded in a future

    • 4th bronze for Italy in juniors men`s foil, but women`s foil it`s a disastrous in this age category: today only 13th places
    • It appears tickets are starting at $28 for the preliminary round events as when I went to verify my account you could see some of the prices under the exit banner, I believe this is already more expensive than the Paris tickets.
