btw , 3rd medal in a row for  Giana Farouk in -61 , now she has 2 Gold medals and 1 bronze

surprising (but deserving) medal for Bulgaria beating Japan in bronze medal match.

 

14 bronze medals for 12 different countries, only Egypt and Turkey won 2.

Only silver for Ganjzadeh he had the lead 2-0 and was in control until a 3pts ippon for Horne which was too strong and almost knockout out Ganjzadeh. he was just a shadow of himself for the rest of the match. he was still dizzy.

 

I'm no expert in this but based on what I know about Karate I don't think you are allowed to kick with maximum strength in Karate, you have to keep things under control. I think they should not really gave that 3pts to Horne but that's it and even coaches can't challenge decisions like that for video review. this was only up to the center referee to decide.

 

so Askari is our only chance for an individual gold and unlike Ganjzadeh he is not going to be the favorite for the final against Busa.
