Other wins Sagnia in long jump against two home favourites by just 2cm and Jacobs in 60m. It was a pretty convincing win, he never looked in trouble. Nice to see him sprinting so well.

6.57 in the heat and 6.51 in the final for Jacobs...

next stop, Lodz next week...

Karalis 5.81, finally a new PB after 4 years. He attempted 5.92 which would've been an overall Greek record (the current records are 5.85 indoor and 5.91 outdoor), but couldn't clear the bar.

Still, good to see him healthy again the past year. I hope he can continue to stay healthy and fulfill his potential. I believe he will get both NRs in the near future.

Ewa Swoboda ran today 60m in Toruń in 7,00s which is new Polish record and the best result in the world in this season :yikes::cheer:

in the same race, :ITA Zeynab Dosso equalled the Italian record (7.19), which was first established by Marisa Masullo in 1983 :yikes:

in the same meet and distance, but in the male version, 100m and 4*100m relay Olympic champion :ITA Marcell Jacobs easily won in 6.49 (in the heats, he went 6.51, relaxing his run well before the end)...

    • The story of  boxer Dmitrijs Avsijenkovs and his incredible 100%, 29 fight knockout record.    Unfortunately.....   Boxer who was knocked out 29 times in 29 fights finally gave up on his disastrous career
    • apparently our NOC rejected the winter sport federation request to send a bigger delegation.   they published a list of just 14 athletes. 8 in CC skiing, 2 in Alpine and 4 in SkiMo. equal number of male and female athletes in each sport.
    • Yeah, I'm not entirely opposed of different host cities, but 24 hours of sports is not a good idea. Keep it to the 16-18 hour days.
    • Mayra Aguiar (Judo), 3-time Olympic bronze medalist, 3-time world champion.
    • Just a bump reminder that we have the annual Stadium Race from Schalke FC's ground in Gelsenkirchen on Saturday evening.
    • Since I didn't follow the Games that closely, two categories I'm having trouble finding candidates for are Comeback of the Year and the Olympic Spirit Award (the Paris 2024 award for individuals who exemplify the spirit of sportsmanship at the Games or have shown great determination in overcoming obstacles). If you guys have any suggestions, I'd appreciate it.      Comeback of the Year   Adam Peaty (Swimming) Tom Daley (Diving) Kristof Milak (Swimming) Matteo Berrettini (Tennis) Paula Badosa (Tennis)  Sunisa Lee (Artistic Gymnastics)     Olympic Spirt Award   Fariba Hashimi (Road Cycling) Flavia Saraiva (Artistic Gymnastics) Ellie Black (Artistic Gymnastics) Csanad Gemsi (Fencing) Silina Pha Aphay (Athletics) Sander Skotheim (Athletics) Cindy Ngamba (Boxing)
    • Have mercy, I can't last 18 days without sleep.
    • This might be unpopular but it would allow way more sports and quotas and cities to host at a lower cost.
