That is a bit surprising, because in my opinion non-English songs were much better this year.

The only time that language actually impacts my scoring is lousy English lyrics. 

 

The few English songs that we have this contest really brought their A-game, whilst native language songs this year felt a bit underwhelming for my personal taste.
