Greece

this was our worst game in last 6 years. Italy probably will be in Olympics fairly. Serbia also. And France probably (although i would prefer to see also Canada)

I am disappointed because I love the Greek team ... no water polo female or male basketball ..

Well, Puerto Rico again.

Hm, I would thought that Latvia and Czechs would be stronger opponents with this Puerto Rico roster, but.. Euro players are tired, Czechs didn't look like they did last summer, they spent only 3 or 4 days together prior to this tournament. Vesely is very tired, it was very notable.

So, if Puerto Rico doesn't have one of the best shooting performances ever with guys like Barea, Aroyo, Vasallo shooting lights out (which they are capable don't get me wrong) we will be in Rio. One more game, I don't want to sound too optimistic but I am inclined it will be a blowout rather than close game. But, hey, everyting is possible.

our female water polo team is in decline. Our male basketball team has much potential but for 3rd straight year at the crucial knockout match we couldnt win. We had also some absences (Printezis, Sloukas) but of course this can not be an excuse since Croatia also had its own ones (Tomic)

No team sport for Czechs this time. very disappointing end of a streak. 2000 mens football (it was a awesome edition with both CZE and SVK participating in the tournament but unfortunately because the games were in september both teams had to send only their "C teams", because clubs didn´t allowed to send the players whch in fact qualified both nations to Sydney), 2004, 2008 and 2012 womens basketball..but well honestly it was expected against Serbia, but still sad

It wasn't C team in 2000. It was A team without some stars - maybe B team :-) it is very difficult to qualify to olympic games in team sport for european countries nowadays. Some continents for example oceania or Africa have guaranteed spots. We were the closest for qualify in football. But the same as in 2008 and 2012, we lost in final qualification match. I think that the biggest chance to qualify in future will have our women basketball team or nobody. :-)

    • Wrestling will have a completely new format, I do not like the changes. ranking isn't really a good idea in this sport, this will force wrestlers to compete in so many events to collect points. which is not good for their health. specially with the current UWW ranking points distribution system which is plain stupid   they are also gifting 18 quotas to very weak countries by that last qualification event. but I understand their point of view. can't wait to see lots of Russian wrestlers compete for weak countries for that 1 available quota.
    • Canoe Slalom Quotas from men's/women's K1 have been moved to men's/women's KX1. K1 will now have 14 quotas while KX1 will have 10 quotas. C1 remains at 17 quotas. Athletes may participate in other events up to a maximum of 2 athletes per NOC.   The World Championship qualifier has been dropped in favour of the Olympic Qualification Rankings (7 K1, 10 C1, 3 KX1), afterwards you have the Continental Qualifiers (1 per boat) and then a new Global Qualifier (2 per boat).   There were a few changes regarding ways to ensure an athlete can only obtain 1 quota. The biggest being at each stage the boat priority is K1 > KX1 > C1 for the rankings and KX1 > K1 > C1 for the continental/global qualifiers. This basically means if the same athlete qualifiers in multiple boats then the quota will be given to the kayak over canoe.
    • I'll post significant changes periodically. I'll start with the recently added/updated documents.   Archery The addition of mixed compound (12M & 12W) forced a reduction on the recurve side. The mixed compound quotas are distributed as follows   Host - 1 World Championships - 3 Continental Games - 5 World Ranking List - 2 Final Qualifier - 1   To compensate the team events will now only have 8 nations. 2 quotas were removed from the World Ranking List and 2 were removed from the Final Qualifier.   Individual recurve and mixed recurve distribution is the same
    • In Rome, it would be useful to roof the swimming pool complex at Foro Italico, possibly with the option of retracting the roof and covering the tennis court complex. Overall, there's a lot to do, for example, compared to Budapest, but unfortunately, this is Italy How many years has Roma been building their new stadium, and they keep pushing back the completion date- now I read it's 2030? and it should be ready. The same goes for Milan- there should be a modern complex of indoor swimming pools with 50 meters pools, etc., but there's a problem with one stupid football stadium, which will only be built after an ultimatum from UEFA

    • impossible, there are not enough venues in both towns and I mean, Milan doesn't have an Olympic Stadium, a decent Tennis Complex and a big Swimming Complex (not to mention the sea) Rome, on the other hand, doesn't have a Rowing/Canoeing Basin nor arenas and stadiums for the team sports beyond football and rugby there's no chance that all those venues would be built from scratch, meanwhile if we use both cities we already have almost everything we need, especially the most expensive and controversial sites
