Mexico in third place with its best performance by far (37 gold, 36 silver and 63 bronze medals) with the highest total in Pan American Games history, so for me these were a great Games to follow.

But all in all, I think Pan Am Sports needs to restructure the Games and its events. I understand each edition they try to give away some medals to the host country... but in true, I think what must be done before adding events just to increase numbers, is to reinforce participation in those events in the Olympic program, and then, those who are popular across the continent.

A total of 55 !! new events were contested here. It seemed like every sport that asked got what they wanted. This is not sustainable, and Santiago 2023 already will have less of a program.

Curious enough, 1995 Games remain the one with most events (432).

well, Argentina lost in the end with Cuba for just one gold........a little sad for that, in other hand, is the best Argentinian performance outside  our country, Argentina won 15 golds en Toronto 2015 and in Lima our country wins 32.....a little diference.

Bolivia just can't get a gold medal at the Pan Ams, not even in Racquetball. I've lost all hope in a gold medal for Bolivia and Paraguay, and a medal at all for Aruba, for that matter (unless something crazy happens in sailing, or maybe even in swimming).

Well, everything happened so fast!

Let's see if this works again: I've lost all hope in becoming millionaire by tomorrow.

    • Hope so (for my adopted country, Norway, that is). Torino 2006 was the first Winter Olympics I followed closely and it was nothing short of a disaster for Norway. Strangely enough, that was actually the reason I became an avid fan of Norwegian winter sports and have been ever since. As for my actual home country, Greece, a medal for Ginnis in slalom (alpine skiing) would be a miracle.

Hasselborg actually said in her post game presser for Sweden that the team didn’t play that bad, which I’d agree with.    Men Gold-  Germany  Silver-  Scotland Bronze-  Norway   Germany is really starting to establish theirselves as a medal contender for the upcoming World Championships and Olympics. Between them, Scotland, Sweden, Canada, Italy, Switzerland, and maybe Norway/United States the battle for the medals will be exciting.    Shocked to see no  or  in the playoffs    Full Results
