Tempo race has several sprints, similar to points race, but only winner of the sprint gets a point.

 

Scratch is about winning laps on the rest of the field, basically.

Well it is one of the main modifications done to the original format of Omnium.

 

Before, the Omnium comprised every individual race not on the Olympic program, with 6 events in total.

 

Now it was shortened to be completed in one day, instead of two.
