1 gold and 2 bronze for Sweden :SWE

Sweden need more athletes to perform better. Feels bad that only two guys can do it. :(

Speaking of that, Tomasz Majewski said the Daniel Stahl's no mark on the throw that would have been good enough for bronze was overstepped by 4 milimeters. Apparently Americans had such cameras that it was possible to determine such a small foul.

Ok. Still he isn’t the best. Remember he won Olympics with 67m . Not going enough right now. :)

:FRA Well, one (gold) medal is clearly not that great. But considering the team we had there, that's was kinda expected with only two solid medal hopes (Kevin Mayer and Quentin Bigot).

Honestly, I was fearing we would come empty hand for the fist time since 1993, but Drama Mayer cleared that for us on the last day.

9 Finals is better than expected, and we discovered 2 two new medal hopes for the future (Wilfried Happio in the 400mh and the men's 4*100 relay) and also that Lavillenie is not dead yet. On the placing table, we end up with 32 points which is slightly better than Doha and Tokyo.

Munich can't come soon enough. Plenty of new faces will be there on the road to Paris 2024 LA 2028.

:BRA Leticia Oro Melo bronze medal yesterdey was the most unexpected medal in the history of the sports in Brazil after the Bronze in the womans tennis doubles last Olympics. Never heard about her before, she came from nowhere lol

1 gold and 1 bronze is not that bad but we still very far from the most traditional nations.

All 6 of Canada's medalists at Tokyo came into this event with an injury, nursing an injury or were injured here...so really had no expectations. I honestly thought Canada would have the disaster of 0 medals like in 2017....but 4 medals and a top 6 placement overall is a strong performance.

Gotta feel for the women's 4x400 relay who seem to finish 4th at every major event lol.

Strange facts:

Even though Team Poland performance in Eugene was "nothing special", pretty average tbh, we are still the top European team in the medal table.

The stats don't show the real strength here. There's no way Poland will be the top team at the European champs later this summer.

I haven't watched it live but it looks like Polish TV was so focused on some boring people talking in the studio that they missed Tobi Amusan WR in the live broadcast last night... ehh...

And then official results from the second semi turned out to be app. -0.1 sec faster than the first unnoficial ones, so our commentators kept saying that there might have been sth wrong with the timing as well.

Hope they are wrong here. Those were too excellent runs by her, both in the semi and in the final.

    • GB basically with the complete roster they have some years now and especially with Liam Kirk in is maybe the top fav, however Jukka Jalonen´s ugly but super efficient anti-hockey catenaccio will surely put Italy especially with Clara in the net and their new americano-italiano reinforcements armada especially in the defense among the main favs for promotion   If I have to bet a penny I would go with 1. GB, 2. ITA for the promotion   Poland changed completely their roster, plenty of old guards retired after last year worlds which was the epic end of their long long years journey, and Poles will have to rely on newer interantionally not tested generation, gonna be a tough tough test to beat Italy and/or GB   Romania with new and naturalized reinforcements should maybe repeat last year suprising journey and stay again in this division.   Ukraine with lot of passion and motivation will battle again every cm of the ice but I am afraid their match against Japan will be the decider whom will drop back to I B next year, It may be a quite open game with Japan having perhaps better roster of the two...
