You will at least get a tie. I’m more optimistic about Humphries winning a second gold medal than I am about Canada winning a second gold tbh. And I’ve always done the medal table g-s-b, betraying both my countries in the process :P And ya, a bunch of countries tried to recruit Humphries. She also came very close to competing for before she made the Canadian team. To her credit she picked a country she has an actual connection to. She also had good lawyers because, as someone who has become a US citizen through the same type of immigration process she did, her timeline was *fast*. Like faster than most people think is possible fast. The time to get USA citizenship is difficult issue. Thankfully, it didn’t take an Act of Congress ala Tanith Belbin and Tracey McFarlane. Her husband took a job abroad because that somehow made her eligible for citizenship faster than the three year rule (which is what I naturalized under).
