Krol, Otterspeer and Verbij qualified on the men’s 1.000m. First ever qualification for Otterspeer near the end of his career.

Nuis fails to qualify. He must have flashbacks to 2010 and 2014 when he was also one of the favorites to qualify and he missed out.

Bad news for someone like N’tab that Otterspeer qualified over Nuis.

There are now eight people on the men's matrix. The 1500m is going to be a very nervous wait for N'tab...

His only hope is Roest and Krol both qualifying. None of the other guys have a chance.

And even then he’s not sure as there’s someone missing for the team pursuit next to Roest/Kramer (maybe Bergsma) and the mass start next to Bergsma. I think Bosker would be a good one for both teams.

Awesome to see Otterspeer qualify, finally :hyper:

And no Nuis. Oh well, he already has his gold so it's excellent to see Otterspeer over him :p

And Otterspeer will probably also grab the sweepstake 500 m quota won by Ntab?

Possible. Eight men 'qualified' so far, with Bosker being a likely addition for the team pursuit and mass start. Which means Ntab will probably have to hope the entire top-3 of tomorrow's 1500m is filled with qualified athletes, but....that's not likely. You know, Nuis.

Watching Nuis and Otterspeer race and then sit and watch the final two races together was some incredible television!

    • According to Ståhls new coach, Ståhl has only the interest practicing and competing with the focus to performance in the important arena competitions. But he has as you say never said anything negative about the performances in these events. However I would have liked to see him and Ceh there too (Ståhl might not be good enough for 74 now in any conditions but definitely a few years ago), for fun, i am still not thinking these are the best discus throws ever. But the level in the discos throw has increased the last season so would by be surprised with more 70+ throws than Regular this season. But not like this.
    • Wrestling Quotas from the U23 PanAmerican Championship: 8 per class and gender. Considerations:   - Paraguay qualifies 1 place in each gender and class if they sent an athlete to the qualifier only, regardless of the athlete result.   - 2 WildCards for every discipline (meaning 2 in greco, 2 for womens and 2 for mens freestyle). WC to weight classes with less than 8 athletes in the qualifier. • sorry bud,Ceh planned to compete here aswell before pulling out at the last minute, your view is just not supported by.....litereally just about any elite male discus thrower,[and plenty of elite female throwers,Valarie competing at Ramona and sayng that she plans on coming back fully legitimizes this for them]except maybe stahl who congratulated Mykolas last year anyway despite his ex coach throwing a fit.so even he clearly doesn't care all that much,Also mykolas threw over 70 meters three times in europe last year, everybody else not being able to do it is not his problem.
    • 19 euros to watch the European Weightlifting Championships. By now the federations have completely lost their minds
    • The argument against it was that the existing body had a full programme from cadets to youths to underage while world boxing had not a single mention of any tournaments under the “elite”   While I didn’t agree with the vote, I don’t think their worries were unfounded
