Yea that’s right, you can. If a swimmer has an A cut they are allowed to enter one other event with a B cut if their nation doesn’t already have an entry

That's not the case. In point 2 of the OCT section of this document https://www.worldaquatics.com/competitions/paris-2024-swimming-info it states that any athlete who has achieved an OCT but also an OQT in another event will have their place reallocated to the next fastest OCT in that athletes OCT event.

The only exception I believe to the OQT and OCT rules is that an athlete who has achieved an OCT time can enter an event that their NOC already has 1 or 2 OQT for if said NOC rejects all OQT places achieved. E.g. :GBR Joe Litchfield will be able to compete in the Men's 100m Fly in Paris despite not having the OQT because :GBR will reject Peters and Gammon's OQT quotas before the OCT and universality quotas are awarded.

That's written because you can't count the same athlete twice.

Any idea when the OCT will be decided? Will it be possible to see the list somewhere? Or updates day by day? Thanks

I'm currently in the process of creating a list which estimates how many OCT quotas will be available and which athletes are eligible for them.

I have a question about :CZE Barbora Janíčková. She did not meet OCT but she won a silver medal at ECH few days ago in 100m freestyle in her PB 54,17s. Is there any possibility that she would get an invitation??

Quite unlikely, there’s probably quite a few names that would be above her with that time.

So I suppose no possibility to get an invitation based on the ECH result or any other big event medal achievement, only the time, right?

Unfortunately, only through your time.

I feel like this was kind of already answered by someone else but that’s not right. Point 2 says their PLACE will be reallocated (they don’t need a place because are already entered with their OQT), but then point 10 applies which allows them to enter 1 event with an OCT.

Your interpretation doesn’t make sense because that would mean point 10 can’t possibly ever apply to anyone.

    • now the shooting sport takes a little Christmas break and the new season resumes in January with the Asian Championships for the Shotgun specialists ( Doha, Jan. 11th through 22nd)   the World Cup will be back in late March, beginning in  Tangiers (March 25th through April 3rd, Shotgun specialists only)   the Rifle and Pistol specialists will start their new season with the European 10m Championships in  Yerevan (Feb. 27th through March 5th) and the 1st World Cup stage for them will be in  Granada in April (5th through 13th)   300m, 25m and 50m European Champs will be in  Osijek (May 30th through June 21st), meanwhile the Shotgun European Champs will be held in  Athens from Sept. 27th through Oct. 13th

    • so, the 2025 season is officially over, after the World Cup Finals have been completed with the Shotgun events, where (once again!!!) a new format for the final stage of each event has been experimented for the first time (before it becomes a regular feature in the next season)   the new format enlarge the starting field in each event's final stage to 8 shooters and dramatically shortens the number of target shots to decide the placings   the only characteristic remaining is the progressive eliminations principle   now, as written above, 8 shooters make the final, where after only 12 targets the eliminations start: by then, the last 2 shooters must leave the competition (7th and 8th ranked)   after 12 more targets (24 in total), 2 more shooters have to leave the final (5th and 6th ranked)   then, the crazy carousel starts: every 4 targets we have a new elimination  so, after 28 targets, the 4th ranked shooter is done; after 32 targets the bronze medallist is known and after only 36 targets (provided there's no need for a shoot-off), compared to the previous 60, the gold and silver medallists are crowned   I guess the tiktok people with the attention span of a chinchilla have won once again
