Faramir 65 Posted April 28 #231 Share Posted April 28 (edited) Ilieva and Tulen gets the last spots. Now, since France had no need to use any host quota, there are 8 universality places for tripartite nations- too many, considering that a few of them qualified on their own. So some of them will be reallocated. "if the Tripartite Commission is not able to allocate Universality Place(s), such unallocated Place(s) will be attributed by the FIE to the next highest-ranked eligible athlete in the Individual Senior Adjusted Official Ranking (AOR) as of 1 April 2024, across all weapon and all FIE Zones, but strictly respecting the following: - The maximum number of athletes in each individual event (37) and - The NOC must not have any athlete already qualified in the corresponding individual event " The first eligible fencers in order should be RANK FENCER NOC POINTS 13 LLAVADOR Carlos ESP 98 m foil 17 XIAO Ruien CAN 76,5 w epee 19 BASHTA Anna AZE 75 w sabre 20 ERBIL Nisanur TUR 71 w sabre 23 BAYARD Alexis SUI 68 m epee 23 TEODOSIU Iulian ROU 66 m sabre 25 DI TELLA Isabel ARG 58 w epee 28 PEREIRA Yulen ESP 55 m epee **** EIFLER Larissa GER 58,5 w sabre Edited April 28 by Faramir Josh
JoshMartini007 2,242 Posted April 28 #232 Share Posted April 28 I think a few will be awarded to tripartite nations, but I don't see it being more than four so the top half of that list looks pretty safe.

Wait...first a few quotas will be given to tripartite nations (ex ,...let's say from 2 to 4 as JoshMartini007 said), then the rest will be reallocated to those fencers in the list in order - I wrote the first 8 but it's pretty much impossible that all 8 get the quota. I guess nobody will refuse barring big injuries.

JoshMartini007 2,242 Posted April 28 #236 Share Posted April 28 (edited) Here are eligible tripartite nations which competed at the zone qualifiers. While technically not a requirement to be selected, I don't want to go through the entire rankings and consider athletes whom competed at a random event. At least here they had the goal of trying to qualify to the Olympics. Additionally, I removed tripartite nations which already qualified an athlete in a different event. The tripartite committee rarely awards quotas to nations already with quotas. - M Epee - M Foil - W Epee, W Foil - W Foil, W Sabre - M Epee - M Sabre - M Epee - M Epee, M Foil - M Epee, M Foil, M Sabre - M Epee, M Foil, M Sabre, W Sabre - M Epee - M Epee - M Epee, M Foil, M Sabre, W Sabre - M Epee, M Foil, W Epee, W Foil - W Epee - W Sabre Most of the athletes did poorly at their zonal qualifiers. Additionally, the nation has to formally apply for the quota months ago. Considering fencing had no direct tripartite quotas, some nations may have skipped applying for it in favour of other events. I hope Cabo Verde and Mali get a quota, but we'll see. Edited April 28 by JoshMartini007 Benolympique

But then again, everyone knew France wouldn't need host quotas in fencing, at least not all of them, so it looked very probable from the start that tripartite spots would be on offer for the first time since 2008. Hency why I belive all of them will be allocated. #banbestmen
Jur 566 Posted April 28 #238 Share Posted April 28 I think that they are going to award one in each event, and the remaining two to the reallocation. Josh
Makedonas 1,666 Posted April 28 #239 Share Posted April 28 https://www.gazzetta.gr/xifaskia/olympiakoi-agones/2323011/despoina-georgiadoy-epistoli-tis-omospondias-xifaskias-gia-na This article is almost three weeks old, but our fencing federation is requesting a wildcard or reallocation spot for Georgiadou and using Bach giving Kharlan a wildcard as an example... Of course I doubt it will make a difference. We knew for the past few years that something like this would probably happen and that one of our two girls would miss out on the Olympics, maybe a change could've been made if they didn't wait until the end to complain about it. Jur 566 Posted April 28 #240 Share Posted April 28 I'm sorry but this is going out of hand. If you have two athletes as strong as the greeks, is yours federations blame only for not being able to rise a third athlete with a decent level enough to figth for the team quota. Asking for a wildcard is absurd. One is in, the other one is out. They had three years to read the qualification process. intoronto, Faramir and Olympicsnell
