Can someone explain me this? how the "2 or 3" is decided for each tournament?

If France or the United States are drawn into a certain group, that group will only give 2 quotas for the Olympics.

Now, I realized the teams will play on Belém. In the middle of summer haha

Good luck to those who enter to our group

Pot 1 :USA :CHN :AUS :ESP

Here are the restrictions for the draw

  • The four hosts will be immediately allocated to the tournament taking place in their country.
  • USA and France can not be drawn in the same Tournament.

  • There must be a minimum of one and a maximum of two European teams in each Tournament.
  • China and Japan cannot be drawn in the same Tournament.
  • Australia and New Zealand cannot be drawn in the same Tournament.
  • The two African teams must be drawn in the same Tournament to ensure that all Regions are represented at the Olympic Games.
  • There must be a team from Americas in each Tournament.

This restricts the draw quite a bit.

For example, :USA must be in the same group as :BEL . From there the other two teams can be a combination of

  • :JPN :NZL
  • :JPN :GER
  • :SRB :NZL
  • :NGR :SEN

:CHN 's group can only be

  • AM1 :SRB :NZL
  • AM1 :SRB :GER
  • :FRA AM2 :NZL
  • :FRA AM2 :GER

:BRA 's group can only be

  • :AUS :JPN :GER
  • :AUS :SRB :GER
  • :ESP :JPN :NZL
  • :ESP :JPN :GER
  • :ESP :SRB :NZL
  • :ESP :NGR :SEN

:HUN 's group can only be

  • :ESP AM1 :JPN
  • :AUS AM1 :JPN
  • :AUS AM1 :SRB
  • :AUS :FRA AM2

Nigeria and Senegal are severely restricted with only two possible outcomes. France and Americas 2 will also be in the same tournament

Because I have way too much time on my hands today, here are the 11 possible outcomes. Along with the chance each scenario has at happening (hope my math is correct).

Scenario 1 - 6.25% chance

:USA :BEL :NGR :SEN

:CHN AM1 :SRB :GER

:ESP :BRA :JPN :NZL

:AUS :FRA AM2 :HUN

Scenario 2 - 6.25% chance

:USA :BEL :NGR :SEN

:CHN AM1 :SRB :NZL

:ESP :BRA :JPN :GER

:AUS :FRA AM2 :HUN

Scenario 3 - 6.25% chance

:USA :BEL :JPN :GER

:CHN AM1 :SRB :NZL

:ESP :BRA :NGR :SEN

:AUS :FRA AM2 :HUN

Scenario 4 - 6.25% chance

:USA :BEL :JPN :NZL

:CHN AM1 :SRB :GER

:ESP :BRA :NGR :SEN

:AUS :FRA AM2 :HUN

Scenario 5 - 50% chance

:USA :BEL :NGR :SEN

:CHN :FRA AM2 :NZL

:AUS :BRA :SRB :GER

:ESP AM1 :JPN :HUN

Scenario 6 - 6.25% chance

:USA :BEL :SRB :NZL

:CHN :FRA AM2 :GER

:ESP :BRA :NGR :SEN

:AUS AM1 :JPN :HUN

Scenario 7 - 6.25% chance

:USA :BEL :NGR :SEN

:CHN :FRA AM2 :GER

:ESP :BRA :SRB :NZL

:AUS AM1 :JPN :HUN

Scenario 8 - 3.125% chance

:USA :BEL :NGR :SEN

:CHN :FRA AM2 :NZL

:ESP :BRA :JPN :GER

:AUS AM1 :SRB :HUN

Scenario 9 - 3.125% chance

:USA :BEL :NGR :SEN

:CHN :FRA AM2 :GER

:ESP :BRA :JPN :NZL

:AUS AM1 :SRB :HUN

Scenario 10 - 3.125% chance

:USA :BEL :JPN :NZL

:CHN :FRA AM2 :GER

:ESP :BRA :NGR :SEN

:AUS AM1 :SRB :HUN

Scenario 11 - 3.125% chance

:USA :BEL :JPN :GER
