 Athletics is reporting that World Athletics revised acreditation concepts for the 5th relay only athlete.

Not sure if it was mentioned, but  Simon Ehammer has decided to focus fully on long jump and not the decathlon, leaving Rik Taam now in the last qualifying spot

So he won't participate in decathlon at all? Or he just put it "on the side" and will decide later if he participates or not?

He won't participate in Decathlon at all, which, frankly, is the only reasonable thing to do from his point of view. He's a medal contender in Long Jump, and the Qualification is the morning after the seond day in Decathlon.

I see. Well, I was considering him as a dark horse for a medal in decathlon. It's pity. But I guess in long jump he's got higher chance to win a medal.

He has a much higher chance in Long Jump. I honestly don't think he would have one in Decathlon at all. Not good enough in Discus and especially Javelin throw. At least not yet.

What about Kaul? He is one of my favourite athletes. He did well in the European championships & I saw he participated in Javelin throw in the german championships & registered a mark better than Rohler. 
I hope him & Neugebauer pushes each other & both medal in Decathlon. 
Kaul must have a decent 1st day to have any chance as his 2nd day is better than most.
