That's weird...Russian would easily win if they go to CAS..unless Lebedev was positive at the qualifier of course.

maybe russian federation just sacrifice one weight which had lower chance to win gold to prevent further investigation about  melodium positive sample back in january  2016,and relating that case to participation in rio

one weight sacrifice=russia happy=uww happy = IOC happy and they prove they take doping staff seriously

i'm pretty sure based on influence of russia in wrestling they made a decision due to sacrifice or like you said taking it back and closing the file

Four Universality Places for Wrestling Awarded by IOC

The Olympic Games Tripartite Commission of the IOC this week announced the appointment of four Universality Places for athletes competing in wrestling events at the 2016 Olympic Games in Rio de Janeiro.

The selection includes wrestlers from Cambodia, Haiti, Honduras and Palau.

“Wrestling is a worldwide sport and these athletes will make the most of their opportunity in Rio,” said United World Wrestling president Nenad Lalovic. “The Universality program gives Olympic opportunity, and hope, to nations who otherwise may not have it.”

The commission awards 110 places in 16 individual sports, which are then made available for allocation to all eligible National Olympic Committees

Asnage CASTELLY (HAI) will enter the 74kg in men’s freestyle along with Skilang Florian TEMENGIL (PLW) at 125kg. In women’s wrestling Sotheara CHOV (CAM) and Brenda Yamlyeth BAILEY GOMEZ (HON) will both be entered at 48kg.

The four Tripartite spots are a supplement to the 114 Greco-Roman, 108 women’s wrestling and 114 men’s freestyle positions earned during qualification. Four additional spots, typically reserved for the host country, will be determined by the Tripartite Commission and have yet to be decided.

Wrestling to Add World Championship for Non-Olympic Weights

United World Wrestling has announced the addition of a 2016 World Championship for non-Olympic weight categories in women's wrestling, freestyle and Greco-Roman wrestling.

The event, scheduled for December 10-11 in Budapest, will be hosted by the Hungarian Wrestling Federation.

World championships in all 24 style and weight categories are held in non-Olympic years. The addition of an Olympic year world championship for weight classes not included at the Olympic Games will give participants of that weight an end-of-the-year title opportunity.

"We are pleased that the Hungarian Wrestling Federation has taken on the responsibility of this important championship," said United World Wrestling president Nenad Lalovic. "This tournament will give more wrestlers the chance to seek a world title, even in an Olympic year. Our athletes work hard year round for their sport and we are pleased to give them an opportunity for more medals."

The world championships will be competed in women's wrestling (55kg, 60kg), freestyle (61kg, 70kg) and Greco-Roman (71kg, 80kg).

UWW confirmed Adjustments to Olympic Qualifiers Announced (Doping issues)

United World Wrestling has redistributed Olympic qualifications for freestyle, Greco-Roman and women’s wrestling. The changes come in response to recent doping violations for small concentrations of Meldonium at the European Olympic Qualification Tournament in Serbia and the Asian Olympic Qualification Tournament in Kazakhstan.

According to UWW’s Anti-Doping Rules and the last instruction issued by WADA, the competitive results of the athletes sanctioned for doping violations will be wiped from their respective tournaments. Per the rules of the international federation, Olympic licenses will be redistributed based on the following circumstances:

Men's Freestyle 65 kg

Due to doping violations at the European Olympic Games Qualifier Magomedmurad GADZHIEV (POL) and Andriy KVYATKOVSKYY (UKR) have had their results at 65kg wiped and associated Olympic licenses revoked. The licenses were transferred to Georgia (via Zurabi IAKOBISHVILI) and Armenia (via Devid SAFARYAN).

Following this adjustment, Bulgaria (via Boris NOVACHKOV) earns the Olympic license won by Georgia at the 1st World OG Qualifier in Mongolia.

As Bulgaria takes their license from the 1st World OG Qualifier, their first-place finish at the 2nd World OG Qualifier will be transferred to the United States who finished in third place (via Frank MOLINARO).

The qualified countries at 65kg (for Zrenjanin, Ulaanbaatar and Istanbul) are then: Georgia (GEO), Armenia (ARM), Bahrain (BRN), Turkey (TUR), Bulgaria (BUL), Canada (CAN) and The United States of America (USA).

Men's Freestyle 125kg

At 125kg, Allen ZASIEIEV (UKR) and Yusup JALILAU (BLR) also had their results wiped and Olympic licenses revoked for positive doping results at the European OG Qualifier.  Their licenses were transferred to Bulgaria (via Lyuben ILIEV) and Hungary (via Daniel LIGETI).

Hungary placed at the 1st World OG Qualifier, and Bulgaria’s qualifying spot would have been the replacement but (as stated above) was earned in Serbia, giving the spot to Kyrgyzstan (via Aiaal LAZAREV).

The qualified countries at 125kg (for Zrenjanin, Ulaanbaatar and Istanbul) are then: Bulgaria (BUL), Hungary (HUN), China (CHN), Poland (POL), Kyrgyzstan (KGZ), Ukraine (UKR) and Belarus (BLR).

Greco-Roman 85kg
In Greco-Roman a positive doping result for Zhanarbek KENZHEEV (KGZ) at the Asian Olympic Qualifier shifted an 85kg Olympic license from Kyrgyzstan to India (via Ravinder KHATRI).

Women's Freestyle 53 kg

In women’s wrestling a positive doping result for Sumiya ERDENECHIMEG (MGL) at the Asian Olympic Qualifier shifted a 53kg Olympic license from Mongolia to India (via Kumari BABITA).

Women's Freestyle 53 kg
At 58kg a positive doping result for Oksana HERHEL (UKR) shifted the Ukrainian Olympic license to Moldova (via Mariana CHERDIVARA ESANU).

here is updated list of all Olympic qualification spots
