YES! ZAKSA Kędzierzyn-Koźle defeat Zenit Kazan in second match in semifinal of Champions League with winning golden set and makes the final, it's first time since 2014/2015 season that any Polish club makes the final there!  Itas Trentino will be final opponent.

Almost a month is left before the start of the Nations League and we still don't have the schedule. :coffee:  It's a round-robin, all 16 teams are known, it's going to be in one location, what are these people waiting for? A computer can make the draw for 5 minutes..

Chinese women’s team will attend as scheduled. So the withdrawal of men’s team is more “financial”.  They may literally lose funding from federation due to bad performance.

Meanwhile in womens Champions League Conegliano wins 3-2 over Vakifbank. I'm glad that Italian team win here as Polish player Joanna Wołosz is among their players :d

I watched the womens final yesterday, a really close and exciting game! Wolosz really is one of the best setters in the world right now.

And I'm also happy Conegliano won, with Dutch player Robin de Kruijf

Just passing here to mention the new absolute NR of :SVK volleyball.

Our Womens National Team somehow jumped into the 25th place in the world FIVB ranking. Nothing mega impressive or noteworthy you may say, however it is the highest rank of any SVK volleyball NT ever mens or women.

Until now the NR was the Mens 26th place in January 2012 & August 2017. So a bit worth to be mentioned for the girls, btw both our teams managed to qualify for the EURO this year, the W team by winning all matches and losing only 1 single set.

    • It's waaaay too expensive & inconvenient. Basically WOG minus the bobsleigh track & indoor arena for figure skating/hockey(which is the easy part of Olympic bid). Just won't happen anytime soon. Winter sports are too facility dependant and the entire alpine skiing requires a separate venue.

    • Also a first: never before has a Dutch pair participated in the games, according to media rapports.
    • The Technical director of the Dutch Olympic Committee has, using his discretionary powers, decided to include them in the team. He cites “extra-ordinary circumstances”, but has not stated what they are. The use of these powers is quite rare. They were used in 2022 to nominate an alpine-skier.
