The first and obvious question here - how will the downhill course look like? :p Lake Louise or Bad Kleinkirchheim?

Don't tell me they'll have a huge turn so late in the run? (at 3:00 in the video). That could send some people flying...

That turn looks less dangerous to me than some of the parts afterwards, where it feels like it's too tight for a high-speed race (combined with some turns). Curious though.

:TLS skier says he is qualified for Beijing 2022: https://www.instagram.com/p/CWboCPlhEHk/?hl=en

I wonder if the FIS has quietly changed the qualification system?

Looks like the FIS has indeed changed the qualification system.

The Alpine simulation now lists :IND:TLS and :TPE as qualified. So maybe this leaves hope for :TAN in CC skiing for example?

That would be a little odd. They already eased the criteria there - although just for women I think - and he (sadly) wasn't anywhere close to getting a quota at the world champs, plus is nowhere near eligible in terms of FIS points. They'd have to nearly eliminate most of the criteria.

:TLS Goutt secured his qualification for giant slalom for the first time following a couple of monstrous PBs at the almighty Timor-Leste National Championships in Kolašin, Montenegro.

https://www.fis-ski.com/DB/general/event-details.html?sectorcode=AL&eventid=51034&seasoncode=2022

Big PBs all around, with even :GHA Maeder dipping under 160 pts once, and :CYP Cyprus seemingly finally securing a female athlete.

If I didn't know any better, I'd accuse them of collusion...

oprah winfrey GIF

Coming up later today in Kolašin... The :JAM National Championships.
