    And that's true. Here's the qualification document, and it says that everyone can gain the quota place through the World ranking, providing that a.) they aren't already qualified in any event and b.) the federation hasn't achieved more than one quota place in the respective event: Paris 2024: Qualification System is on the ISSF website - Asian Shooting Confederation (asia-shooting.org)

    Yes, it was less bad than feared, particularly because many of these crews were young athletes. Of course it's far from what German Rowing aspires to be, but miracles weren't to be expected. Hopefully, they will improve in the upcoming years.

    Do you mean theoretically or realistically? At least theoretically you can get a quota place in Luzern in every event in which you didn't qualify in Belgrade. There's no limitation of starters unless already qualified.

    They are only allowed to start in the European qualifier, if Poland gets less than two quota places at the World Championships. They have already one.

    I know Germany was a big disappointment at European Championships. Do they still have a realistic chance? It certainly didn't help for the rankings.

    Just going by the quotas, yes, I agree. But Germany also won 2xGold and 1x Bronzen in the World Championships 2019. And barring big surprised from both the 8 and 4x, this will not happen here.

    This can still change. Yesterday and today, they made the decision to change the lanes about an hour befor ethe competition started.

    Die Bahnverteilungen wurden sowohl gestern als auch heute aufgrund der Witterungsbedingungen kurzfristig geändert und die Besten der Vorläufe haben Bahn 1 erhalten, die Nächstbesten Bahn 2 usw. Bleiben die Bedingungen so, wird das auch die nächsten Tage so sein. Das ist, neben den sicher schwereren Bedingungen, auch ein weiterer Grund, warum es kein Boot von Bahn 5 oder 6 geschafft hat. Da sind heute die Außenseiter gefahren.

    On the other hand, because of the conditions, they did order the boats according to the results from the previous round, with the best team having lane 1, second best lane 2, etc. So the boats on lanes 5 and 6 were the outsiders anyway.

    Den leichten Doppelzweier würde ich auch nicht abschreiben. Aber nur dann, wenn die Bedingungen besser als heute sind. Wenn das so ist, wie heute, und die Bahnen entsprechend verteilt werden müssen, haben sie keine Chance, weil sie nach dem Kentern logischerweise die schlechteste Bahn im B-Finale kriegen. Förster traue ich es eigentlich zu. Dem Achter ehrlich gesagt nicht.

    While that's true, the women, in spite of being qualified, still play at the Qualification Tournament. So I can see, how OlympicFan got the idea, that the men can take part at the Qualifier as well. Even if they don't. It's a very odd rule by the FIBA.

    Agyekum über die 400 Hürden auch mit der Norm.

    Es gibt einen deutschen Normerfüller über 400 Meter der Männer, und es ist noch nicht einmal Manuel Sanders. Jean-Paul Bredau ist beim ISTAF 44,96 gelaufen.
