  1. athletes might be able to make a pretty penny with gold medal performances.
  2. ICF released the current quota allocations after the world championships: https://www.canoeicf.com/sites/default/files/csp_quota_allocation_paris2024.pdf

  4. eliminated from women’s cricket after getting steamrolled by opponents in back-to-back matches.
  5. Kim/Bae have taken losses to pairs from . I assume they aren’t favorites, but still, it’s not everyday that Timor-Leste beats the Republic of Korea in sports.
  6. I’m not quite sure the account admin understood the question being asked here Also, “according to IOC” is a weird response. I know they are referring to an article on Olympics.com, but one would assume the LOC would know who has television rights in each country
  7. Hopefully in a day or two. I’m still getting a couple of things in place.
  8. What a difference four years makes… Aitmukhan is world champion and Nur-Sultan is Astana once more
  9. Right, but even when you look at the last two editions, there were entries you didn’t really see elsewhere. As I’ve said before though, I think an over saturation of events might be the reason for slim entry numbers.
  10. It’s interesting how eights (rowing) will suddenly come out of the woodwork for the Asian Games and Pan American Games. I’m sure most of that has to do with an opportunity to earn medals, but it’s interesting those entries never really translate to global events.
  11. Tensions escalating between and Link: https://www.bbc.com/news/world-europe-66851975
  12. Can someone explain the cricket tournament format? and play in a match labeled “Qualification to QF” today, but both should qualify, no? The format seems really odd with no group stage and pre-seeded teams in the knockout stage.
  13. No semifinals in women’s modern pentathlon: https://info.hangzhou2022.cn/resAG2022-/pdf/AG2022-/MPN/AG2022-_MPN_C67_MPN-------------------------------.pdf
  14. Well, if you’re going to find a crafty way to advertise it… Happy birthday to the (at present) only Slovakian I know @hckošice
  15. Yeah, I barely trust the VPNs I use, so that’s a little too far for me. RTM had some FTA streaming during the Commonwealth Games that worked well for me, but it doesn’t seem like they’ve put together a similar page for the Asian Games.
  16. I have a couple different ones, and I’m still striking out everywhere. A lot of the broadcasts are behind paywalls too, so at that point you’re paying for one or more VPNs and a streaming service. I’m not sure the Asian Games are worth that for me. Hopefully an international broadcaster is appointed at some point.
  17. I think they might still be figuring out a few kinks: https://info.hangzhou2022.cn/resAG2022-/pdf/AG2022-/ROW/AG2022-_ROW_C35_ROW-------------------------------.pdf
  18. I saw SBS will be showing some events. Is that the first time they will do so?
  19. MeWatch and Bein had streams for cricket and beach volleyball. I just didn’t have vpns that worked on those.
  20. Is it Atos or Bornan? Edit 1: Actually, they did okay on the Invictus Games, so I’ll approach this tabula rasa. Edit 2: This looks like the same model they used for Tokyo 2020 and Beijing 2022. It might be alright. Edit 3: Oh! PDF’s say it’s Bornan. How very strange.
  21. I like the free entries, since we get to see athletes from countries we wouldn’t normally see in some sports. I’d agree that there should maybe a financial penalty or future participation restrictions for late withdrawals though.
  22. Bornan kind of dropped the ball on San Salvador 2023. They were late updating schedules, and forgot to post a fair amount of PDF reports. MicroPlus might honestly be the best results provider at the moment. SwissTiming seems to be limited to Olympics/World Games at the moment. Don’t even get me started on Atos or DeporteVirtual. They SwissTiming was the OCA’s partner for years (along with Ssangyong), but Bornan signed a long term contract with the OCA early this semester.
  23. It happened during the last edition too
  24. It does indeed look like competitions will begin without a results system in place. I honestly don’t even know why I try to follow OCA events at this point. They are the most infuriating governing body in my opinion.
  25. MeWatch has gotten better at blocking vpns it seems I wanted to watch cricket and beach volleyball, but I don’t see any streams.
