  1. Well alrighty, no Morocco at the event, I'd assume. Barely a month later and their 4th place has already gone to their heads
  2. Absolutely Although still it's a bit weird to have this format. Diggins was by far the best today, for example, but it would have been much nicer if she had actually finished in her new position in the GC. Now you've got three separate rankings/fights in one single race: - The result of the pursuit, based only on the day before - The indivivual times for today - The general classification, based on point two
  3. Yeah, pursuits like this really shouldn't be in a stage race. If you want pursuits in a stage race, make them be like they were in stage two, where the classification after that stage was the result of the stage. So, starting in order of the classification, not the previous stage. Also the way the last stage used to be and really should be.
  4. Eurosport Player for a few more days, and sometimes Viaplay when I can't watch on TV or computer But both are just to watch stuff, other than that...nothing.
  5. Yeah, he must have some personal grudge or whatever. Basically everyone in darts always talks about Smith like one of the nicest players around, he never really says anything bad about anyone, even after winning his very first world title he started rushing off to family, but quickly turned around to first shake his opponent's hand, and then went to his family. Barely ever any weird antics or unsportsmanlike stuff, almost always gracious in defeat as well. No, people who say Smith is another idiot just can't be taken serious...
  6. What a beauty of a final and what a fantastic champion, absolutely deserved it and it could barely go to any nicer guy in the world of darts
  7. Well, slowly that's starting. You can just sense the "in 5 minutes I can be world champion" nerves getting to him.
  8. Smith is starting to look rather convincing
  9. Truly bizarre 3rd leg in the second set just now: 180 Van Gerwen 180 Smith 177 Van Gerwen 180 Smith Van Gerwen misses the 9-dart finish on double 12 Smith finishes 141 for a 9-dart finish
  10. Geiger 51st today, so the number 5 of the standings is out.
  11. Rally, rallycross and all other kinds of rally and race-related stuff legend Ken Block has passed away due to a snowmobile accident, aged 55.
  12. Yeah this was insane Van den Bergh was not playing that bad, to be honest. Sure, not his best level, but playing close to a 100 average most of the match simply isn't bad. But yeah, Van Gerwen today...damn, nothing to do against that.
  13. Michael Smith puts an end to the dream of Gabriel Clemens with a fantastic display: 6-2.
  14. Oh don't get me started on Rayssa Leal('s reactions), I can quite easily get someone here all fired up by showing some videos of her reactions I do find urban sports fun to watch sometimes, but yeah, I still find it quite difficult to take them as serious as the big and more classic things, to be entirely honest.
  15. They might have had a chance to be in if you had voted, who knows And don't forget there's just a handful of spots available, when we are here usually looking at dozens of sports. There's absolutely going to be dozens and dozens of names not making it, with some people thinking they should have made it
  16. I've sent in my preliminary votes, but one remark: it'd be nice if the nominees for specifically the Olympic Spirit Award have a bit of extra info...like, specifically what makes them be special in regards to the Olympic Spirit? Example: I like Iivo Niskanen, but I don't really remember what special thing he did other than competing that would make me vote for him
  17. "It's too much work to do within a few years, so let's not look into it at all."
  18. Cameroon's 'under 17' team has a bit of a problem....21 of the 30 players turned out to be too old https://fecafoot-officiel.com/wp-content/uploads/2022/12/PRESS-RELEASE-U17-OK.pdf Not really a surprise that they're not all actually under 17, I assume, but 21 out of 30 is quite a high number
  19. Got that feeling of her season being done the second the fell, to be honest...that knee twisted weird
  20. Difference is, here we have quite a lot more resources to take our time in doing all kinds of extensive research and see if there is any good way to use it. Human feces won't run out, after all. It won't save the planet, but no single thing will, and if you've got the resources to study potential benefits in it's use, why not? Even if it doesn't lead to anything useful, it is definitely worth the research. Plenty of examples here of ways in which it can be used in a useful (and safe) way. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Reuse_of_human_excreta
  21. Makes perfect sense though. People should absolutely be free to have this as a choice, it quite literally doesn't harm anyone or anything and has basically no disadvantages (unlike cremation, burial and so on).
  22. To be fair, a women's Four Hills Tournament has been in the works for years, of course with the same hills. Definitely sucks for Ljubno, but I find it hard to be against it: outside of diehard fans, barely a soul will watch women's ski jumping in Villach and Ljubno, non-diehard fans barely even know of the existence of these places, whereas Oberstdorf but of course especially Garmisch-Partenkirchen is very well-known among people who don't even know a single ski jumper, and so can attract much more attention overall for the women's sport.
  23. Michael Smith somehow fought himself past Stephen Bunting this afternoon. Now a very mediocre Gerwyn Price was kicked out by Gabriel Clemens, first ever German quarterfinalist becomes the first ever German semifinalist as well And Price didn't get the memo yet that suggests to leave your social media alone in the half hour after a big loss, he's dramaqueening already (understandably disappointed of course, but come on)
  24. Oh well, I'm sure for 2026 a solution will be found, and other than that Italy isn't doing that bad without an oval recently in terms of results. There's no Fabris of course, but he was as next-level as next-level can get, but generally they seem to be doing pretty well. Inzell isn't that far away, in the end I know the rules say they can't, so they won't and therefore it's not a realistic suggestion, but still the best would have been to do the Olympic races in Baselga or Collalbo....without a roof
  25. Well that is some fantastic news I had missed Seeing Inzell be turned into another default indoor hall was enough
