  1. Nope, but Bryan Fletcher won and is going to Pyeongchang
  2. Relaxing instead of being stressed is why I'm cracking open the bottles tomorrow
  3. I'd be impressed if your collection wasn't for nine people
  4. Here it's six little bottles of wine (3 white, 3 red, each bottle is more or less one decently filled glass, they're really useful for when you don't want to crack open a normal bottle but do want a drink), two normal bottles of red, a bottle of port (or port wine, not sure what the English name is), five tiny bottles of a beverage I picked up in Austria (with 35% alcohol, so it counts) and I know we've got three 0,75L bottles of glühwein plus probably a bottle of champagne waiting. Oh, and that's for just three people (two of which, who aren't me, will probably take it a little easy, and one of those two will mostly drink beer)
  5. We'll know tomorrow, the team will be announced at 12:00. I'm curious how the Verbij/1000m situation is going to be solved. The most likely seems that he's given the spot with Thomas Krol as reserve, in case Verbij isn't healed in time.
  6. Cross-country in the US trials starts in a few minutes. Winner goes to Pyeongchang.
  7. Ah and now that you mention this, at 01:00 our time it's time for Penguins @ Red Wings, meaning Daniel Sprong's return in the NHL The Dutch channel that shows 2-3 live NHL games per week has Flames/Blackhawks listed for tomorrow night, I'm hoping they'll change it now, but otherwise I'm going to look for a stream (if I'm sober enough to think of doing so)
  8. I'm not someone who would be an asshole and cheat on his girlfriend
  9. And judging by the amount of alcoholic beverages we've got at home at the moment, I think in 28-30 hours from now I won't be able to write my own name or walk up the stairs anymore.
  10. From my schedule: So basically, watch that. And hope the idiots have done all their 'carbidschieten' today instead of tomorrow. Usually that's the worst on 31 December, but since it's Sunday tomorrow and my town is rather religious, I'm hoping they'll be quiet tomorrow (not because I'm religious, but because I hate those loud bangs)
  11. Daniel Sprong has finally been called back to the Pittsburgh Penguins after his hat trick last night
  12. Esmee Visser Letitia de Jong goes out in tears because Achtereekte doesn't double up.
  13. Fantastic 6:56.41 for Annouk van der Weijden, only 4 women were ever faster in Heerenveen
  14. Wow Van der Graaff!! First Swiss women's WC win since Evi Kratzer in Calgary 1987 Dutch roots https://data.fis-ski.com/dynamic/results.html?sector=CC&raceid=1943
  15. Lenzerheide looks a lot more alive than it did when I was there for the IBU Cup earlier this month
  16. Baby steps are steps too
  17. To be fair, anything that Saudi Arabia does that is something slightly good for women is a small, but good step forward
  18. Don't know why anyone would want to go there anyway by the way I've been to the Berlin New Year's Eve once and it was one hell of half the world population (or so it felt) in a small area, and the walk back to the train station (and from the train station to our hotel) was mostly filled with loud, annoying drunk people and people sitting in their own vomit. Never again
  19. If by 'normal' you mean it's something we'll see more often, than yes. If by 'normal' you mean it's something that's no big deal, than no, it's not normal that this is apparently necessary.
  20. Sundby doesn't make the cut. Slightly surprising, since he's shown more than once that he is very capable of even finishing top-10 in these things, but then again, it's the Olympic season, I doubt the Tour de Ski is where he wants to be in his best shape.
  21. The Tour has started, no surprises in the women's sprint qualifying. The only notable things are Randall not making it (but then again, she's not that great like she was a few years back) and Lampic ending somewhere in the back.
  22. Historical. Tied for most wins ever in one season. The only negative thing was that he 'only' won one gold, one silver (relay) and two bronze medals at the world championships.
  23. As always I guess, since apparently people are more eager to remember negative things
  24. Amateur start, but wow, what a match (again, they always deliver ) Too bad Raybar didn't win, but alright.
  25. Yep. Kramer De Vries Nuis Bergsma Verweij Mulder Verbij Smeekens Krol Blokhuijsen It seems quite likely that these are going to be the 10 headed to Pyeongchang (possibly no Krol if Verbij gets the 1000m spot, although Krol has a 1500m chance as well).
