March 2016: https://www.volleybal.nl/nieuws/dick-kooy-en-nederlands-team-uit-elkaar It says Kooy won't play for the Dutch team anymore and he asked for an Italian passport to make it easier to compete in the Italian competition. Already in 2016 he was married with an Italian woman and had a house in Milan, which at that time he said is where he wanted to settle permanently.

    It'd be rather stupid to ban Iran for not going to country X if Iranians are not allowed entry to country X...sort of like the IOC/FIFA/something banning Kosovo if Serbia doesn't allow their athletes to compete in Serbia for example.

    I am not exactly cheering for her My meh was for 10th place being over two minutes behind and these results meaning my girlfriend would very, very likely have qualified if the federation had allowed her to start instead of saying "no, because no". Hence the strongly mixed feelings while watching this.
