  1. The Australian team was evacuated due to a fire in the basement of their block in the Olympic Village...
  2. Well, she said to Danish Media that she only believed in it after the Danish Championships
  3. @dcro Do you have any predictions on how our talen, Cathrine Dufour will do? She posted some pretty impressive scores at the Danish Championships
  4. These are decently up to date http://www.cyclingfever.com/editie.html?detp=view&_ap=startlijst&editie_idd=Mjc3OTc= http://www.cyclingfever.com/editie.html?detp=view&_ap=startlijst&editie_idd=Mjc3OTg=
  5. I believe this is the schedule for canoe sprint http://www.canoeicf.com/olympic-canoe-sprint-schedule
  6. Some good and some bad draws. Easy group for Jan, but he will have to beat Lin Dan to get a medal. Tougher group for Viktor. Would say that's the toughest in the men's singles. But if he makes it through as first, he has a very decent way to a semi final. For Line it'll be tough. She has been capable of challenging Marin, but it should be an easy group win for Marin. Tough for the XD as well. It could end up as a struggle for the WD. Their 2nd by the rankings, but the Chinese pair will be a challenge as well. Meanwhile it's close to a dream group for the MD. They have a pretty good record against the korean pair and the other 2 should surely be beatable, though it's of course a question of wheter Mogensen is back in top shape.
  7. Well, it should be mentioned that the Inado (the Federation of National anti doping organisations) are for a ban as well. But I will not keep on discussing, as I will barely have any net for the next week.
  8. I am aware that they have nothing to do with the Final Decision, but I still don't see why they shouldn't be allowed to say what they think. They're working for a clean sport and it would seem like Russia hasn't been soing so. Sure , there's a risk that some would see it as political, but None the less, these News about Russia paints a picture of Sports that isn't what these National anti doping organisations want.
  9. Well, the National anti doping committees wants a clean sport. If a country doesn't work for that, why shouldn't they?
  10. Egen WADA says they have to be banned, I don't think the IOC have much choice...
  11. I honestly don't think that's anywhere near the Main reason. I would say that it's mainly due to scheduling. The PGA and European tours don't take a Break for the Olympics. The women's Tours do
  12. Well, I've heard countless stories about Riders having to drink beer to be able to pee for a doping test.
  13. The official danish song for the Olympics is out... I'm not impressed!
  14. It seems like almost all teams are in the same tough situation. Sweden has been mentioning trying to get an exemption for them to pick players not in the original squad, because they've gotten lots of nos. Denmark seems to be doing decently with a deal meaning that all danish teams not playing in Europe are forced to let 2 players go, with one exemption selected by the team and the first goalie. At the moment we're at 8 players.
  15. I would really like some of the ones who fought for golf in the Olympics to tell these golfers, how they're hurting what they fought for!
  16. I'm guessing that it's mainly the schedules from the ticketing info and official schedules from the different federations
  17. For me, it's about time to rethink the concept of group stages. I'm not so worried about the number of teams, but it would not work with the classical group system. A mathematician, whose name I don't remember, came up with a great idea some years ago. This made it into 3 pots (with the best team in the best pot, the middle teams in the 2nd and of course the worst in the last one) in a system where everybody competes against everybody. This means 1 match against a team from each pot, and then all teams are in the same rankings. This would mean that every single match is important, and every goal the same. Then it could still be with 24 teams without a lot of boring matches, and it could still be possible with the same amount of knock-out matches.
