I think we are still looking good for two medals in Men's sabre (one in the individual event and one in the team event), the rest... Siklósi can obviously win an individual medal in Tokyo if everything goes perfectly again, and, as you have said, women'S sabre is a question mark. I will be happy if we somehow get two medals, that would be better then Beijing. Rio was a fluke where almost everything went perfectly with the exception of how that Men's epee final ended. We won't see anything similar in the next few SOGs.
Oh, do not make me remember Beijing, the horror Olympics. Waking up so early for so many disappointments... Yeah, I agree, Rio was a fluke, the whole fencing team truly overperformed.

Well, now the women's sabre team has to save us, otherwise we will likely only have one team at a SOG that has 6 team events.
Houston, we have a problem... Cold shower for sure, but they have still chance to make it to Tokyo, right? So far, I'm not expecting anything promising in fencing in Tokyo. Áron is in his deepest, Siklósi seem satisfied, women's foil in the bin, women's sabre still a huge questionmark... Rio was amazing for fencing, Tokyo, hmmm...

Ledecky Am I dreaming?
Congrats Késely, next time, next time...

I swear we won't stop hosting literally every important WCh multiple times until the IOC finally gives the Olympic Games to Budapest.
And still we won't get it... (hopefully)

Yeah... the individual medals are great, but this will be a failed WCh for us if the teams flop. We need to qualify at least two teams (I guess we can realistically qualify three at best if everything works out perfectly, the men's epee team and the two sabre teams?)
Yes, and I secretaly hope there is a miracle for the woman's foil team too...

Huge congratulation to Siklósi, very impressive perfromance from a 21 years old. So far, it's a successful WC on home soil, but the team performances are going to be the most privotal...

Blanka was the last Croatian athlete to compete in Rio and she won our 10th medal. Amazing, I've never expected us to win 10 medals (including 5 golds!). My hope was to get 7 medals, what would break our record of 6 medals from London 2012.
Between 1992 and 2000 we won only 7 medals overall so we really came a long way. Thank you, thank you
Quite surprising for me but truly amazing performance from Very well done!

youre welcome. Hungary did very well in Rio..well maybe except mens Canoeing...I am also very sorry for your water polo..especially the womens team, they are definitely one of the unluckiest team in the history of the olympics...hope in Tokyo you´ll finally win this medal.
Thanks
There are serious problems in our men's kayak team... not expected golds but definitely not such poor performances.
Waterpolo... one of the most heartbreaking thing is that lost bronze medal... for the 3rd time in a row. That's cruel from life but girls did not deserved it based on the last 2 minutes... -

yes badly surprised by your mens team here. very very poor results. but as you say in the womens side it still work very good
Congrats for the very succesfull games I expected many medals for you but wow..Hungary is definitely one of the most positive surprises of Rio 2016
Thanks, I also congratulate to you for that 50 km walk win.

hckosice: I think many in Hungary have mixed feelings about Rio. (I mean the whole not only canoe kayak) On one hand, amazing performance from the 2 three-time champions (Kozak and Hosszu) and the fencing team (2 G 1 S 1 B), some positive surprises like the young swimmer Kenderesi (winning bronze medal in his first olympics after beating Phelps in the heats and semifinal) or the shot putter Anita Marton (first womens medal in athletics since 1968)
On the other hand:
- handball team did not qualify (neither W nor M)
- HUN swim team was about 35 strong, and many strong names who very expected to have a good performance (at least IV-V-VI place) did not even make it to the final, along them 2012 champion Daniel Gyurta
- Disappointing performance of the judo team (along with some referee "mis-judgement")
- Disappointing performance of the wrestling team (along with open _cheating_ by one of the referee's on a HU bronze match)
- Disappointing performance of the mens waterpolo team (for the second olympics V/VI place)
- Disappointing performance of the mens canoe-kayak team (see above)
+ this is not directly sports related: absolutely sub-par commentators on Hungarian public TV covering the OG, with exception of athletics and fencing and a few other disciplines. The guy who covered canoe-kayak sometimes had no clue about what is happening on the track...
But I personally would like congratulate to all Hungarian athletes who had a good performance at Rio, no matter what place or medal or whatever!
This, thank you. Perfect summary on my feelings about these Games.
8 golds (fabulously consistent) but missing some other "surprises" that occured every other olympics. 7 out of 8 golds are won by females with the only exception Áron Szilágyi. That's weak boys... very weak.
-
No comment on boys performances... New all-time low.
The girls on the other hand...
Danuta Kozák 5 times OC, the first ever kayaker to achieve that.

Semenya and Wambui... athletics needs new rules to filter these out. Is this how IAAF wants athletics to develop?
Also sick of Bahrain, Turkey, Spain and Italy teams.
Exactly my thoughts.
