  1. Well, apparently Germany fell for Adolf (again) (Sorry I could not deny myself )
  2. Unfortunately, the entire German team seems to have had no good Olympic preparation. They were dominating the last World Cups (okay, CHN was not there) but they did not manage to bring this to the Olympics. I fear, it will be an Olympics without a German sprint canoeing gold.
  3. That is maybe a silent protest by Villanueva: He doesn't want the 50km at the Olympics to end and go the way of C2 Slalom and Individual Track Cycling Pursuit.
  4. Wow never would have thought I have the honor to witness a German Race Walking medal at the Olympics. First Race Walking medal at major international championships since Andreas Erm won bronze in 1997 over 50km.
  5. give Diniz 10 min and he will be back in the leading group
  6. Olympics level include the 18km Race walk + 2km running medley event? Interesting though.
  7. Split times indicate a Doha winning time of about 4 hrs. I fear that no Eugene standards will be met today
  8. Tried to convince myself for 5 years that I've never witnessed his ... incident
  9. Tbh that looks like another Diniz harakiri ;-)
  10. The great Robert Korzeniowski who won every race walking event back then when I was a kid and fell in love with Race Walking :D
  11. Wow, all heptathletes that finshed the event are over 6,000 pts. Ellenwood with 6,077 pts at rank 20. That's a pretty high overall level. Btw Schäfer missed the (insane) Eugene standard of 6,420 by 1 pt.
  12. I really love race walking but I did not see such ridiculous last 2km for a long time. The first three were ALL flying all the way, you could even see it with the bare eye. But of course the judges do not have the balls to DQ them. What a fucked up ending.
  13. He injured his foot at his HJ attempt over 2.11 m. Tragedy. Decathlon is a bitch.
  14. Definitely a shame to remove imho the greatest class C2 in slalom canoeing. Leaving that aside, there are yet 6 or 7 girls in WC1 which are really really good and it's nice for them having the opportunity to perform at the Olympics. Of course, there is a HUGE gap between the best 6-8 and the rest. Hopefully there will be more competitive C1 Women in Paris. If it was up to me, I'd include the WC1 to the program too and ofc keep the MC2.
  15. Just get rid of this corrupt sport. So many ridiculous decisions. No transparency.
  16. Luckily for the people around Bach, stupidity is not infectious.
  17. Good idea. What media/platform do you plan to use? As said before, it's an absolute disgrace of WA. F.e. the guy from TLS has a ~14:30 PB over 5000m and might not be world class, but he still has a very decent level (better than >99,99% of the world) and it is absolutely disrespectful to offer such an athlete a place for an event where he has no connection with and - from the point of view of WA - where the athletes least bothers the entire event. Likewise, you don't ask a dressage rider to compete in show jumping because there are no more slots available for dressage.
