  1. I have no information about the suits used for the 2nd jumps. However, it would be crazy if Takanashi and Iraschko would have used the same suit they got DQ'ed for But I would not exclude anything in this competition I really wonder whether Stroem and Opseth used the same suits as in round 1 where everything was okay. Maybe the tech delegate was too busy to check Althaus, Takanashi and Iraschko
  2. Rules should be respected, no discussion about that. But it is crazy to change the standards within 2 days at the same event. When a suit is considered to be okay at the single's event, the athletes have to rely that one and the same suit is still okay 2 days later. After all, these Olympics must feel very strange for Althaus. Winning a silver is really great, on the one hand. However, she had bad luck to say the very least in both her events. Whatever. The DQ's are overshadowing that Slovenia was absolutely the best team today and Gold is more than deserved. Even without DQ's but with Kramer it would have been very hard for AUT to win Gold today.
  3. The German coach said after 1st jump that Iraschko, Althaus and Takanashi all had the same suits as in the single's event. Althaus said that she had the feeling that the tech delegate controlled her as long as the delegate was able to find something. I don't know what happened. The only thing being sure is that the controls were conducted differently from all other events before.
  4. Only 0.4 sec behind Ivanova in 3rd place. With two very good runs I guess it's possible.
  5. If Kytosaho would have been able to start, Finland might have won the Bronze, I guess.
  6. We are one DQ away from Matthew Soukup winning an Olympic medal. What a competition.
  7. Respect for your prediction skills, you should consider starting a career as a clairvoyant I would have NEVER expected this, Herrmann barely had a handful of good competitions over the last two years, 15km with 4 shootings never was a good event her (until today) and after that disastrous shooting in the Mixed relay I had already buried the hopes for today. Voigt is a sensastion too. She had the fastest last lap, unbelievable.
  8. It seems that it worked :D I remember that a LOT of curling was broadcasted in German TV over the nights when lots of delays struck the TV schedule. Although the German teams lost all matches (at least what I remember) I learned a lot about this sport and well, I still enjoy it.
  9. Oh yeah. One of my first Winter Olympic experiences. As far as I remember the sprint was cancelled during the race due to heavy fog and restarted the next day. Staying up early for that cancelled race, watching Curling instead
  10. Only 7 athletes within 1 second after day 1. Very selective track. In 2018, we had 13 athletes within 1 second after run 4. Kindl and Ludwig are practically even, will be very very close tomorrow.
  11. First day and I am already fed up due to the TV graphics. I mean wtf. Slopestyle: No information about the section scores. Ski jumping: No information about the wind conditions (just this STUPID pictogram). Camera ankles in Ski jumping and Luge are a disaster. How can the olympic broadcasting can be so sub standard compared to World Cup events? How is this possblie and who is responsible for this? Quite the same mess already in Tokyo when I think of Shooting.. oh well.
  12. Germany on its way for Olympic Record for most shots during a relay. 4 shootings with 8 shots
  13. Here we go with episode 2 of the "Norway wins everything" Olympics
  14. Nolan Seegert, German pair skater, is positive. He is scheduled to compete in the team event on Friday, but I don't know whether this is still realistic.
  15. Sounds a bit different here: https://www.insidethegames.biz/articles/1118650/taiwanese-team-beijing-2022-ceremonies More pressure than "negotiations".
  16. Both Tregubov and Semenyov have already been replaced by Rukosuev and Romanov, resp. Germany's Axel Jungk was tested positive after St Moritz WC, but there is still hope for him.
  17. Skeleton World Championships silver medalist Axel Jungk also tested positive a week ago. There is still hope for him though. Hannah Neise also tested positive after St Moritz, but she already has four consecutive negative tests and can travel.
  18. Fis quota page says that Italy accepted only 1 ski jumping quota for each gender, Finland rejected its third quota. Now up for reallocation as it seems.
  19. Last-ditch effort for more quota places: Austria seems to have requested FIS to transfer the unused quota places from several Women's events (Snowboard, freestyle) to the Men's Alpine quota. Moreover, they make allegations that the quota places for small nations which resulted from the races from the Malbun Exotic Nations Cup in January should be cancelled as the races were held under "questionable circumstances". 20. Vancouver 2010 in terms of the atmosphere (with a tear in the eye regarding the death of the Georgian luger). Also, Nagano will always have something special for me (my first Winter OG as a kid, staying up very early to watch luge and biathlon, only to find the events being delayed due to heavy snowfall, so ending up watching curling all night long xD), even though I remember that there were many claims about bad organization. I always liked Salt Lake City (somehow) as I remember great fights in CC, Nordic combined, Speed skating (mostly from the German perspective). Unfortunately, the last two editions of the Winter Games are at the end of my personal ranking list. However, (I fear) Sochi and Pyeongchang will shortly be joined by this year's games as I never never ever had so less pleasant anticipation of OG in terms of the atmosphere and the host country in general.
  21. Covid count for the German team is now 13 players The total number of positive tests for all teams aggregated during tournament and preparation is >100 (according to "handball-world"). The EHF is to blame for their disastrous decision to do the tournament without a bubble. By now, the German team only stays at the tournament because the EHF threatened to ban Germany from the 2023 World Cup qualification if they would have quit the tournament. Thankfully, this tournament doesn't serve as a 2024 Olympic qualification event. EDIT: Didn't check the news before this post (what a mistake): We are at 15 players for Germany now Only six players from the original squad are still negative
  22. Where can I sign? Of course, it's possible but not very realistic in my opinion. 2 Alpine medals and 3 Biathlon medals would be awesome ofc.
