  1. yeah...and the same is for Milak... I don't really know why 2 guys with already an established senior record should still sweep youth medals here and there... but that's how the officials from their respective Countries decided and we can only respect their choice...
  2. sure...their top athletes already think about the real Olympic medals at this age (especially in sports like swimming and gymnastics, where you normally can excel at a very young age)... so, why wasting their energy and time for such a meaningless (for what concerns the real sport stuff) festival like this? I mean...for those who are participating it's surely a great life experience, but the actual sport competition is almost senseless...I don't want to say it's a farce, but we're really close to that...
  3. don't underestimate the Japanese girl... however, I also think Lukan is the main favourite (with Lettner having also an outside chance, the lead section should be an affair between those 2...but still...climbing is always a "risky" sport)...
  4. fencing today's events semifinals... women's Sabre: vs + vs men's Foil: vs + vs p.s. remember that today's events are streamed live on the Olympic Channel (just the day when ITA are not in the top 4 )...
  5. nice collection... gotta watch it with a bit more time available...
  6. your "definitely last" girlfriend should read this post...especially after you posted a photo of the Argentinian girls... p.s. in any case, I agree at 101%...
  7. stupid qualification rules + a few rejected/dismissed quota (because of that stupid rule about the max 70 "individual" athletes per NOC...Italy for instance had a girl qualified for women's Epee, but she was left out because of the max 70 rule...same in taekwondo, we had 3 qualified athletes, but 1 had to stay home )...
  8. naaa...I'm not the only one...Italy is full of "differently young" people...
  9. by the way, just to complete the news from last night, the medals in Fencing went to: women's Epee Gold: Kateryna Chorniy Silver: Kaylin Sin Yan Hsieh Bronze: Veronika Bieleszova men's Epee Gold: Davide Di Veroli Silver: Paul Veltrup Bronze: Khasan Baudunov today it's time for the women's Sabre and the men's Foil, which means that some fencing will be finally streamed live by the Olympic Channel...
  10. no, it wasn't...Maiorca won the 5000m race, so if the Colombian ended up in 4th place in the 500m sprint race, Maiorca would have eventually won the gold medal...
  11. I think it's a punishment for Italy going beyond the 2.4 deficit/GIP ratio...the entire EU asked for that... no, trying to be serious once every while...it was because the final placing in the 5000m elimination race, which was to be considered "the final" of the combined event, despite being held earlier than the 500m sprint race... from the Worldskate website: "Barrault and Valanzano tied in the final ranking and, following the rules, the Silver medal went to France thanks to a better placement in the 5.000mt Elimination"... unfair, but this is how they managed the situation... ops...it was already posted...I'm still sleeping this morning... thanks to @Dunadan
  12. and our brilliant flagbearer Davide Di Veroli (cadets world and european champion + junior world silver and european champion earlier this year) made it to the final, where is going to face his arch-rival Paul Veltrup from Germany (they already faced each other quite a few times in the previous global events, with Di Veroli always ending up as the winning side)...
  13. fencing men's Epee for Bronze: vs for Gold: vs
  14. oh, by the way, yesterday's fencing medals went to: women's Foil Gold: Yuka Ueno Silver: Martina Favaretto Bronze: May Tieu men's Sabre Gold: Krisztian Rabb Silver: Hyun Jun Bronze: Mazen El Araby
  15. fencing women's Epee for Bronze: vs for Gold: vs men's Epee semifinals (running right now) vs + vs
  16. no, she lost in the quarterfinals (and then in the 1st round of repechage)... there was Mark Van Dijk in the bronze medal match in the men's -81kg (don't read the previous pages if you don't want any spoiler about that)...
  17. oh, man! Maiorca was close to the Gold medal...he just threw it away with the disappointing 5th place in the 1000m race yesterday...
  18. what a crash in the men's speedskating final! was the only one left on his foot and won the race, but still managed to get 3rd and won the Gold... and won the bronze (since couldn't win the race)...
  19. no, I don't think (and it would be unfair, since the 5000m are more than triple the lenght of the 500 and 1000 put together)... the only criteria should be the single race placings (and they're tied, too)... we'll see at the medal ceremony if they really have silver and bronze rather than 2 silver medals...
  20. meanwhile, + + + (that's a big surprise) + + are the 6 finalists in the Sport Climbing men's combined event...
  21. no, it's impossible... they really gave the silver to and bronze to ITA in the graphics...I hope it was a mistake...or it is a farce within the farce...
  22. and and now are perfectly tied at 36 points (with a second, third and fourth place in the 3 events each one)... so, probably there will be a double Silver (unless some strange and obscure criteria would be eventually used to separate the 2 girls)...
  23. in the Inline Speedskating combined event the medals are already decided before the final of the 500m sprint race... + + are in both men and women's finals... the 4th male finalist is and the 4th female finalist is basically, is gonna win both Gold medals unless something really unexpected happens...the women's Silver and Bronze are up for grabs for and (not sure if has still a mathematical chance for Bronze, I should make some calculations and I don't have any intention to do that)... in the men's event, is almost sure of the Silver medal and of the Bronze medal, even if has still a remote chance of overtaking the Dutch guy (he must win the race and the Dutch end up in last place of the same final)...
  24. and Schenk too...he just made a shameful outing... or not? the live scoring is going crazy...they wrote he was out at the 14th hold and instead he actually reached the Top (with a better time than Pang but worse than the Japanese)...
