  2. no Brisa Hennessy...the women's competition (and the fight for the Olympic quota) becomes interesting...
  3. no, not yet... they have to win the Oceanian Championship first (not that's a tough task, but still...they have to do it)...
  4. GB ECH roster http://competition.europeansoftball.org/2019/ostrava/rosters.php?roster=gbr GB OQT roster https://olympicsoftball.wbsc.org/en/2019/e-2019-europe-africa-softball-olympic-qualifier/teams-and-rosters/GBR p.s. both games were started by the same pitcher for GB (Georgina Corrick, who earlier today had a CG, meanwhile in Ostrava she was forced to come out after 4 innings)...
  5. sure, because now they play NED on Friday night before playing GB on Saturday (at the infamous time of noon CET, because NED will still play the last game at 3 p.m. CET)... and this means that we have to give everything twice in a few hours...an "all or nothing" match up against NED would have been a lot better for us (we could have used other pitchers against GB and keep Cecchetti fresh for the OQ decider, now probably we have to waste her on Friday night and rely on Cacciamani (who's good, but not that good) on the platform against GB...
  6. not necessarily... game over! this was really unexpected! chapeau to this British team
  7. and again another amazing catch! but who are they playing? Ken Griffey Jr. after a sex change?
  8. Gb just wasted the chance to seal the deal... now it's time for the last charge from NED... not sure a GB win is the best result for Italy, too...
  9. yeah, the main slots are 10 a.m. to 1.pm. and 6 p.m. to 9 p.m. where most of the finals are scheduled, but luckily at the Summer Games there's always something to watch... the Pyeongchang empty hours are not to be repeated in Tokyo... just to start making your calculation... https://www.olympia.at/download/files/{9D130C87-FAEA-41B7-88A3-935D76187A5D}/OS_Tokio_2020_-_Olympic_Session_Competition_Schedule_v.5_April_2019.pdf
  10. C11. TIE BREAKING C11.1. The ranking of the teams after the round robin shall be according to the win-loss record of all the games played. A tie exists within one (1) group or across two (2), when two (2) or more teams have the same win-loss record. C11.2. A tie shall be resolved by following, in order, the procedure set out below: 1) Group Round Robin (Opening Round or Super Round) a) With two teams tied on wins/losses, rank them by the results of their game in the round robin; the winner is placed ahead of the loser. b) With more than two teams tied on wins/losses, rank them in order: i) By the results of their games among themselves in the round robin games. With two teams tied on wins/losses, rank them by the results of their games in the round robin; the winner is placed ahead of the loser. ii) If still tied on wins/losses, by their runs against record in the games among themselves; the team with the lowest runs against is placed ahead of the others, the team with the second lowest runs against is placed ahead of the others, etc., until two team remain and then rank them by the results of their game(s) in the round robin; the winner is placed ahead of the loser. iii) If any teams tied by their runs against record in the games amongst themselves: (1) two teams – by the results of their games amongst themselves in the round robin games; (2) more than two teams – by their runs against record in all the round robin games; the team with the lowest runs against is placed ahead of the others, the team with the second lowest runs against is placed ahead of the others, etc., until two team remain and then rank them by the results of their game(s) in the round robin; the winner is placed ahead of the loser. C11.3 For a tied team “runs against” is the total number of runs scored by the specified opponents of that team.
  11. swimming is at 10.30 a.m. = no race walking crossing... but still, rowing, shooting, team sports, surfing, skateboarding, BMX freestyle, fencing, judo and taekwondo prelims...all of them crossing with it...
  12. Team Relay Gold: Switzerland Silver: Italy Bronze: Denmark Full Results, here: http://www.championchip.cz/results/2019072510/ReRel.pdf

  14. basically it's like the kind of Italian language they speak in Tessin (especially those in the mountain areas) opposed to the regular Italian language spoken south of the Border...
  15. so, basically he's won his gold medal even without racing...
  16. yeah, half the Cricket NT has Afrikaans as mother language... the same Francois Pienaar, captain of the great SA team that won the rugby world cup in 1995 and made famous also outside sport fans by the movie Invictus, with Matt Damon (playing Pienaar's role) and Morgan Freeman (playing Nelson Mandela's role), is a pure Afrikaner...
  17. gold for Japan! and medal for Switzerland!!!
  18. OK, I read an article a few days before the Champs started and the pay-tv was not even mentioned (as if for the Australians didn't exist)...it was only about everybody complaining for the FTA coverage missing... probably it's because swimming is so popular there that they always expect to watch the big events on FTA channels...
  19. Triathlon World Series dates for next year released by ITU... Abu Dhabi, UAE – 6-7 march – Sprint Distance / Mixed Relay Bermuda, BER – 18-19 april – Olimpic Distance Chengdu, CHN – 9-10 may – Mixed Relay Olympic Qualification Event Yokohama, JPN – 16-17 may – Olimpic Distance Leeds, GBR – 6-7 june – Olimpic Distance Hamburg, GER – 11-12 july – Sprint Distance / Mixed Relay World Championships ITU Grand Final, Edmonton, CAN – 21-23 august – Olimpic Distance
  20. yes, no Australian TV has given up all the money fina asked for the tv rights...
  21. still, almost every NOC has prize money for their medallists and an Olympic Gold always means sponsorship contracts, even in the most amateurish disciplines...so, there's always something about money to be taken into consideration...
  22. no, it's because wood is going to deteriorate with time, even if you treat it with some chemical products to try and keep it good through time...
  23. I don't think China will just watch the home Nation to dominate... Japan can have a lot of no. 1 seeded athletes, but the Chinese record at the Olympics speaks for them...even when they don't enter as the favourites, at least 2/3 gold medals fly to Beijing and surroundings... I don't expect Japan to win more than 2 gold medals in Badminton...but, as always, this is just my opinion...and it counts as any other people in the world (so, basically nothing )...
